Smurf: Again England starting to show their mastery of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Paul Mackereth: Pakistan 200 run first-innings lead. England to lose by nine wickets, which would be a shocker having won the toss.

If only! If only England had three slips for Woakes. A thick edge from Amir and Joe Root flings himself to his left at second slip but can't get his mitts on it. The ball races away to the boundary and the 500 is up. Amir and Younus have now added 67. When it rains...

Three of Younus' six double hundreds have come after the age of 35. The only other player with three double hundreds after 35 is Kumar Sangakkara.

England are somewhere near Plan F right now. Steven Finn is the latest man to try his luck - he at least finds vicious bounce to beat Amir's back-foot force... and a leaping Jonny Bairstow behind the stumps. Four byes. Amir even has the chutzpah to pinch a single off the last ball to keep the strike. The ultimate insult for England.

Younus' sixth double hundred is a joint record for Pakistan with Javed Miandad. Younus also joins Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara as the only two players to have double hundreds against six different opponents.

Chris Woakes, England's most potent bowler this series, at least shows Younus is human by beating his outside edge with one that shapes away and bounces. Amir shows his more experienced partner how to do it by driving beautifully on the up through point, then edges for four more. Nine off the over. England need these drinks.

Liam: Younus with a performance worthy of winning the entire series.

Muhammad Bilal: You cannot keep a world class batsman down. Amazing innings Younus Khan.

Anything you can do... Amir follows Younus' lead by walloping Moeen for a maximum of his own. He is off the mark with a six - off the 24th ball he faced! The lead now worth 154. England searching for answers.

What an amazing knock. He's been struggling all summer, hopping around like a cat on a hot tin roof. He's come in and decided not to get out, then slowly found his form, and played beautifully. He's said to his team 'I'm the senior boy, i'll do it'.

Younus shows his legs and mind are still working by scampering a two to the spread outfield, and follows it up by swinging Moeen for six over mid-wicket to bring up his 200. The spectators are forced to take cover. That's a superb, superb double century - it's hard to overstate how good an innings this has been.

This has been a masterclass from Younus, sherpherding the tail superbly in his 108th Test. The eight-wicket stand was worth 31, of which Wahab Riaz contributed only four, and the ninth wicket partnership currently stands at 33, with Amir yet to get off the mark.

If Pakistan were to chase 200 on the final day I think they would be able to do it.

Younus goes large! Down the pitch to Moeen and hoisting him into the crowd once more at deep mid-wicket. He then sweeps for a single to expose Amir to four balls. His confidence in the left-hander must be growing.

Andy Harley: How many times? Batsman can't buy a run all summer gets on a flat track at the Oval and makes a pile of runs. Gooch in the 80s?

Tameena Hussain: "Form is temporary, class is permanent". A brilliant knock thus far from the legend Younus.

A change in tactics for England: Chris Woakes on in place of Stuart Broad, the fielders sent to the boundary for Younus. He finally takes a single off the fourth ball. "Over to you, Mo." Play-and-miss followed by solid defensive. "No problem." Amir has faced 16 deliveries without scoring.

That stumping from Bairstow was just his second in Test cricket. He's taken 77 catches.

So Moeen has six balls at Amir. Can he make them count? Almost, almost. Tossed up by the offie and Amir swipes at thin air, then inside-edges another unsightly mow just past his leg stump. The tailender's patience doesn't look his greatest quality.
