Are you surprised with a 2-2 finish?
Yes - I always thought man for man, England were slightly better, with such a strong middle order. Moeen Ali played beautifully at times. England's seam bowling was better on paper, and I thought we would be good enough. But we weren't - that's sport, and it shows the tenacity of leadership from Pakistan to come back after the wallopings they took at Old Trafford and Edgbaston.
Spare a thought for Alastair Cook and his players, who are probably sat in the England dressing room and wondering where it all went wrong. At the toss? With their top order in the first innings? With their bowling? With their second-innings collapse? Plenty of questions to ponder for them. Joe Root can only stand in the Oval balcony and look on as Pakistan take a lap of honour in this early evening sunshine.

It was similar to that New Zealand Test series which broke the mould - this series has caught the imagine. Well played Pakistan, well played England, a fair result.

TC: Most people would have taken 2-2 after Lord's. 4-2 all summer. Not a disaster by any means. Bring on the winter!
Muhammad Yousaf: If there is any team who deserves to be the No.1 Test team in the world, it has to be Pakistan!
Well, these Pakistan fans and all around the world can start celebrating this win on what is a historic day for them. Whether you live in London or Lahore, it's time to take stock of an amazing series, with so much back and forth even the best experts were struggling to make correct predictions. England and Pakistan players shake hands on the staircase to the dressing room. Misbah shares a few jokes with his ex-Yorkshire team-mate Jonny Bairstow. Pakistan then pose as a team on the field with the country's flag as backdrop. All very nice pictures to send home.
Azhar 30, Aslam 12
That's it! The series has ended 2-2. Azhar Ali clubs Moeen Ali for a huge six into the second tier and it's the end of the match. Pakistan win, Azhar takes off his helmet and punches the air a couple of times. He then wraps his arm around Aslam as they walk off the ground to applause from The Oval crowd.

Jonathan: Jimmy and Broad too good to bowl??
Daft Penguin: "How do we ponder this result?" With judicious application of that great English tradition, The Pub, I should think...
As predicted, it's not out from the third umpire as the world's most pointless review comes to an end. To sum up, Aslam tried to cut Root away, missed the ball, and as he shifted his feet Bairstow took off the bails expecting a raised foot from Aslam. Nothing given
There seems to be a review for stumping on Aslam, as he played and missed at Joe Root's delivery.
Target 40
Heave ho! Azhar Ali whacks Moeen over mid-wicket in the time-honoured fashion of seeking cows at the corner. A welcome break after the boredom of that maiden. There's a slightly less orthodox slice through point for another four. In the home stretch.

In the two Tests that Pakistan will have won, Yasir Shah had a big hand in them, but in the two they lost, he's gone round the park. So probably Chris Woakes for me.
Target 40
A maiden. A maiden??? Root adds one to the M column in his bowling figures. That run rate graph must undulate more than a sine wave.

PD31: Throw it to Vince. He can't bat so we may as well see if he can bowl.
Target 40
Well, I guess my powers of telepathy have worked. Pakistan upping the run rate considerably with a couple of fours. First Aslam sweeps it over square leg, before Azhar takes a slashing effort at a wide delivery from Moeen. It gallops away to third man. Just 12 to win now as the celebratory trumpets resume in the stands.

Man of the series for me would be Chris Woakes for his all-round performance. Vital wickets, vital runs.
Pakistan scoring slower than a sloth walking through a bathtub full of jam. Another single, this time off the occasional off-spin of Joe Root. May as well try all the players. Perhaps Cook will dig out his Bob Willis impression again.
What's everyone planning after today's play by the way? How do you celebrate a win if you support Pakistan? How do you ponder the result if you're an England fan?

Jeremy Fretter: Hales, Vince and Ballance score marginally more runs, in 6 innings (44) as Amir has scored in just one innings (39).
MixItNFixitMan: Hales for me gets another series. Ballance and Vince back to counties get their confidence. But who replaces them? Tough times.
Target 40
Azhar Ali takes a single off the very first ball after tea. Pakistan don't look in any hurry really. Perhaps someone's asked them to let the fans party on for as long as possible in the stands. Not a bad idea really, even the organisers would agree I'm sure.
