  1. Pak 241-6published at 47 overs

Mark Wood ensures that Pakistan can't build on those two Nawaz blows. He varies his length and goes for just five. Top death bowling.

  2. Pak 236-6published at 46 overs

Imad. I'm not surprised, I'd be cross too if I'd been left in this position. Fortunately, Nawaz looks to be on the ball and hits two successive boundaries off Plunkett - one down the ground, the other powerfully through leg. That'll do.

England really in the box seat. It's a good pitch, it hasn't turned and it's a big outfield in which you can run lots of twos and three.

In comes Imad Wasim, looking to propel Pakistan to something truly competitive. He swings at a short ball from Woakes, who appeals for a catch behind. Nothing doing.

Just seen a replay of the Sarfraz wicket. It was a Woakes slower ball. Out of the back of the hand. Top execution.

England really are strangling Pakistan now. We were talking about 300, but now 270 is looking difficult. It's good bowling, good catching and Pakistan are in strife.

  8. wicket

    Sarfraz c Wood b Woakes 55 (Pak 226-6)

Pakistan's post-rain woes continue. Shortly after having to tape his bat up because of a big split at the bottom, Sarfraz cloths a Woakes ball to Wood at mid-off. 300 is a pipe dream now.

  10. Pak 224-5published at 44 overs

Mohammad Nawaz fends off a short ball from Plunkett to end the over. No run. That 300 total is disappearing into the distance.

That was a good catch. It was shoulder height, so you have to decide whether to get your fingers pointing up or down. Rashid isn't the best fielder and has dropped a couple that people remember.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 43.5 overs

    Malik c Rashid b Plunkett 17 (Pak 224-5)

Well bowled Plunks, well held Rash. Malik drives a full ball aerially and Adil snares it at mid-off. It was an awkward height, taken around his shoulders. Good pressure from England bears fruit.

If anything, that break will probably have helped England as it will disrupt the momentum Pakistan were looking to build over the last 10.

Just two more runs off the rest of Woakes' over.

Pakistan will be seeking plenty more shots like this from Sarfraz...

The key wicket from England's perspective was this one from Adil Rashid, his second of the match, Azhar Ali caught in the deep by Moeen Ali for 82.

It does look as if the rain has now stopped. Hopefully we'll be back on real soon.
