Bairstow reaches for a Taskin delivery outside off, before he drops into the off-side and runs. An excellent throw hits the stumps, but Bairstow is speedy even in this humidity and he's safely home. Buttler then responds by pulling two boundaries. He then pulls off the most ridiculous shot, swatting a ball down and through mid-on. That was extraordinary.

Shafiul will continue, and it's good, into the body stuff. Buttler mutters to himself as he cracks consecutive drives straight at the fielder at point. He steals a single with a push through mid-wicket, and that's two from the over.

AJ Shazad: Don't panic England, there are batsmen still left to bat who can score 189 of 20 overs. Even Rashid scored 10 FC 100s. 

Russell Anderson: Vince is only in this team as sympathy from being dropped in tests. He's not good enough at this level. JB to steer us home here

The crowd are not quite as rowdy as they were a few overs ago. That is a victory in itself for this England pair. Saying that, every time a camera focuses on them they go a bit nuts. One poor young girl loses her star-shaped glasses as a bloke behind her charges in to get on TV.

Taskin is the new bowler and starts by conceding four singles.

Anything slightly off the mark and Jos Buttler is on it in a flash. He takes a step or two down to new bowler Shafiul Islam and slaps the ball through mid-wicket for four. He connects equally as well with a pull later in the over but is denied another boundary by a superb diving stop from Tamim. There is no stopping his shot from the last ball, though - a thudding drive through extra cover. The fightback is gathering pace.

Just seen a shot of Chris Woakes sharing a joke with Paul Farbrace & Trevor Bayliss and I like that. England may be in a pickle but it's important to make players feel relaxed and at ease. They know the gravity of their situation.

Bairstow gets out the sweep and gets it out well, powerfully hammering a full ball to the rope. Added to four singles in the over it helps England move to 50. Still in trouble but moving ever so slightly in the right direction.

England continue to consolidate, steering Mortaza around to keep the scoreboard ticking. Buttler has already brought an air of calm to proceedings. This is going to have to be one hell of a captain's innings.

Good over for England, that. Seven runs off it. There is still an awfully long way to go, though, before they can think about anything other than survival.

Buttler did indeed hit it into the ground and so stays where he is.

Straight from one powerplay to another. Keep on squeezing. Has it paid dividends? Buttler reverse sweeps the ball and it ends up in the hands of the man at backward point. Buttler believes he hit it straight into the ground. So does the umpire, hence a soft signal. The home crowd have the opposite view!

From one captain to another - Jos Buttler strides out and in typical form his first act is to swat the ball to the boundary.
