In all our forecasts for the day, we haven't given Bangladesh hope but they've got a little chance you know. If their openers get to 70 or 80 without loss and the ball gets softer, it's a different game.

Another three added, this time off Shakib. Batty is no mug with the bat. He can be a decent partner for Woakes, who is a genuine all-rounder. England are no longer a Tuffers at 11 team anymore.

Guy D'Oyly: Succeeded in waking the whole house up this morning...all for a days test cricket. Come on lads.

Hugo Walford: I always question my sanity after waking up this early, lots of tea getting me through!

One run off Mehedi's latest - a bye. England tiptoeing to 300. The new ball is due after the next over.

That's a shame... Broad was always struggling there. He's disconsolate. No world record there - unless he reviews the umpires' review!

New man Gareth Batty is off the mark first ball with a single. This has been a Test characterised by early wickets.

Unnecessary. England have come out with the positive intent to take their singles but this one is suicide. It is Broad's call after Woakes plays Shakib behind the wicket but he misjudges it completely and is way out of his ground as Mushfiqur whips off the bails from the throw.

Quick single and Broad is struggling to get in at the striker's end. He dives but I think he is well short.

I wouldn't be surprised if Stuart Broad gets the sweep out this morning, but that is dangerous once the new ball comes into force in a few overs' time.

Shouts of "catch it!" as Woakes stabs the ball past short leg. Huge appeals as he is then hit on the pad playing forward. In the background as faint rendition of Jerusalem echoes round the ground, performed by the small collection of England fans in attendance. Cricket's brilliant.

I've had this from the horses' mouth that Stuart Broad will go for the review if and when he's out - even if he, in his words, 'mooses it to cover'.

There's been 19 reviews in this match. One more would be a world record, and who better in world cricket than Stuart to break it?

    I think it's been a terrific, subcontinent surface - much better than a 600 plays 500 pitch.

Ben Stokes though everyone. Seriously, Ben Stokes. Ahhh, Ben Stokes.

What a day he had yesterday. Four wickets to clean up the Bangladesh tail in rapid time, followed by an 85 (as part of a 127-run partnership with Jonny Bairstow) to dig England out of a mighty big hole.

Let's hear from the man himself...

  20. State of playpublished at 04:48 British Summer Time 23 October 2016

Now that you're up, here is a reminder of the state of play...

With two days to go in Chittagong England lead Bangladesh by 273 runs with two wickets remaining. This comes after a day of twists and turns (literally), in which 13 wickets fell and the balance of play swung back and forth like a well-greased pendulum.

England's lead - which they will hope to at least extend to 300 - gives them the advantage on a pitch that has spun significantly and is breaking up quicker than a Taylor Swift relationship.
