We're having an early bowling change, with Moeen taking over from Woakes. Tamim takes all of three deliveries before coming down the wicket, but he can't beat Woakes at mid-off. Tamim scampers a sole single from a quicker, flatter delivery.

It took Tamim 20 balls to get off the mark, his second longest in Test cricket, 29 is his longest.

Tamim is off the mark! It's taken 20 deliveries, but it's come from a cover drive that Duckett gets a hand to. Finn gives his double teapot the day's first outing as Tamim scampers two. Insult is then added to injury as Tamim pulls a short ball for three, before giving a full ball the full drive treatment. That's a boundary, and an expensive over from Finn.

Mominul didn't really feature much in the first Test but he's dangerous. He's been given a few loose balls to clip away when you just want to keep him quiet early in his innings.

More bounce from Woakes. A proper effort ball just narrowly avoids Mominul's flash outside off-stump, but he recovers with a lovely flick of the wrist to get Bangladesh's first boundary. That's also woken the crowd up, and there's more to cheer as a short, wide ball is flashed through the gap between slip and gully. Woakes ain't impressed.

Stuart Smith: England take a wicket with the second ball I see of the Test. I guess what I know I'm doing for the rest of the morning...

Both Finn and Woakes are getting some awkward bounce from a pitch that's just tinged with green. Tamim blocks one of those awkward ones towards Ballance at short leg, who dives straight on the ball. Cook picks his nails and slip and shouts encouragement as Tamim blocks, blocks and blocks.

I'm interested to see how Finn goes because he was so down on pace and has been for about a year. It's all about split second timing.

  11. Ban 1-1published at 3 overs

That's Chris Woakes' first wicket of the tour - although he did bowl just seven overs in the first innings and seven in the second at Chittagong. A good over to back up that wicket, with the last delivery slung across the face of Mominul's bat.

He'll feel disappointed, he got the width he was hoping for but threw the hands at it and there was no control. We talk a lot about the spinner but if your seam bowlers are able to find the way through that is a bonus.

Not the prettiest wicket Woakes will ever snare, but he'll take that. He follows up a decent bouncing delivery with a short, wide delivery that Kayes throws his hands at and smashes it straight to Duckett at point. Woakes looks delighted, Kayes, less so.

For all the talk of cracks and spinners, don't rule the seamers out. If a seamer hits a crack, the ball can go either way or to the side, particularly from a tall bowler like Finn.

  15. Ban 1-0published at 2 overs

Steven Finn will open at the other end. His first delivery is a horrible full toss that Kayes throws the kitchen sink at, but he can only inside edge it past his stumps. The second delivery is a belter - bounce, pace and just sneaking past the outside edge. His last ball gets some bounce too, and Finn finishes the over well.

It'll be Chris Woakes to open the bowling to Tamim. It's staying low but he gets one to bounce though and beat Tamim's tentative prod forward. Woakes sighs, glares and returns to his mark. Tamim throws a wild uppercut at the final delivery, and that'll be a maiden.

The perfect balance for England is to have a left-arm spinner in India but they don't know much about Zafar Ansari, whose first wicket in first-class cricket was Alastair Cook - out reverse sweeping, although he had 120-odd at the time.

The players are out in Dhaka. It's overcast, to say the least. Not that it's deterred the fans, who are making their presence known.

In the past with Bangladash they have been content to make a respectable score and make sure we don't make a fool ourselves, but here they have to go for broke and in the long run it will suit England.
