There was hardly any appeal for the wicket, which confused me. What a weapon Stokes has been here in Bangladesh.

Mehedi drops the ball onto the offside and takes a couple of strides down the wicket. Ben Duckett collects the ball at point and hits the stumps with his throw. Mehedi dives and just makes it back into his ground.

The ball deflected off the stumps and the batsman collected two, just to add to England's pain.

Duckett throws the stumps down, do we have a run out?

Taijul drives Stokes down the ground first ball of the over for four but the Englishman gets his man later in the over. A little bit of away movement and a regulation nick and catch behind the stumps from Bairstow. Very muted celebrations from England.

Chris Brown: Great cricket from #BAN, deserve to win the match. Conversely, if #ENG chase down this many, they deserve to win. Great Test.

Arjun Sohanpal: Fed up of all the negatives I'm hearing. If our top order finally put a performance in, we can still chase 300. #optimism

Craig: Someone in England's top four is going to have to score a big hundred if they are going to win from here and I can't see that happening unfortunately.

  6. Ban 269-7published at 61 overs

Taijul is off the mark first ball with a sweep from a leg-side delivery from England's leg spinner.

Two dots follow to right-hander Shuvagata Hom.

  7. Ban 268-7published at 60.3 overs

Charles Dagnall just described England's morning as "woeful" on TMS. The players are heading back out.

Adil Rashid will finish off his over first up after it ended midway through with the dismissal of Sabbir before lunch. Taijul Islam is the new man.

    Thanks Amy.

Right then. England are already facing their highest run chase in Asia and Bangladesh still have three wickets remaining. The tourists let a number of chances go begging in the morning session with four dropped catches.

Are any England fans still confident? What can they let this lead - already at 244 - get to?

And with that cheery little recap, I'm going to get a brew, practice my catching and repeat the mantra 'catches win matches' until I've annoyed everyone around me.

I'll leave you in the capable hands of Matt Henry. In a bit.

It is going to be tough for England. If Bangladesh can get a lead to 275 it is going to be very tricky. I think the England top order is the concern, they have been three down in every single innings.

What a morning. 116 runs, four dropped catches, two dreadful reviews and four wickets. It's been another good counter-attack from Bangladesh but England have really let them down. Cook has been slow to react, their fielding has suffered in the heat and they're firmly on the back foot.

It was one of those as a batsman you know to just walk off.

Good from Rashid. It was sliding out of the back of the hand, an excellent ball to be fair.

And with that wicket, it will be lunch. Bangladesh currently have a lead of 244, with three wickets remaining.

That's the one for Rashid. It looks like the wrong'un, Sabbir goes back and he's trapped on the crease. That looked pretty conclusive, and indeed Sabbir doesn't review.

These runs are really hurting England. Bangladesh deserve to be where they are because they've been so positive.

  18. Ban 267-6published at 60 overs

That's so nearly a wicket! Sabbir pops one up, it hangs in the air and Stokes come charging forward, but he can't get there in time. He put in some real effort to get to there. Sabbir turns away as Stokes chunters furiously.

  19. Ban 267-6published at 59.5 overs

That'll cheer up Stokes - Hom edges and it flies past the vacant second slip position and away for another four. He was reaching for that, and he scampers off strike two balls later. Sabbir then charges down the wicket, has a huge hoick and toe-ends the ball over the top. He's splintered his bat in the process, while Stokes offers some friendly advice.
