Rashid is leaking runs. I don't know how much longer Cook can keep him on here.

  2. Ban 259-6published at 59 overs

Hom sweeps and sweeps fine to take Rashid for another four runs. That was just drifting too much down leg side. He flights one up and it is walloped through mid-wicket for a boundary. Hom cracked that with such enthusiasm. These two have put on 21 runs from 18 balls so far.

The umpires have come over to have a word with Cook. That presumably was about Stokes who was, shall we say, less than impressed with that over.

    That is another poor review.

There have been two stone dead decisions that they haven't reviewed and the two they have weren't out.

There's nothing on Ultraedge. Nothing. Nada. Not even a flicker. Not out, and Bangladesh lead by 227.

Stokes thinks he's got his man. He squares Sabbir up and is that an edge? Cook's reviewed it...

I give Bangladesh a lot of credit for backing themselves. They play their shots and there is nothing worse than losing by playing against your natural game.

  8. Ban 247-6published at 57.5 overs

Sabbir's confident. He comes down the wicket to Stokes' second ball, but Stokes sees it coming and he has to defend, rather than drive it back over the bowler's head. Stokes, being Stokes, offers a few words. Sabbir responds by driving through the covers for four. Ouch. He then times a defensive push to perfection, and it runs away for a boundary.

Stokes has been England's best bowler by a mile. He takes the most wickets, concedes the least runs and the bowler at the other end bowls better when he is bowling.

I don't know why, at the start of a crucial day, he wasn't opening the bowling.

  10. Ban 242-6published at 57 overs

Stokes has taken 10-83 in the series so far. What a performance. Rashid serves up an absolute treat for Sabbir to welcome him to the crease. Short, wide, clubbed away for four and thank you very much. The rest of the over is a much better line, but Bangladesh take that lead to 218.

There was a little bit of late movement off the pitch, it nibbled away. Mushfiqur got caught on the crease. That is what Stokes does. He makes the ball talk.

Stokes has been fabulous, banging it in, good rhythm and probing that off stump line.

That was almost like slip catching practice. Mushfiqur guided it to Cook at slip.

    Mushfiqur c Cook b Stokes 9 (Ban 238-6)

Stokes has been invaluable in both Tests this series. A tight over is rounded off with Mushfiqur hanging his bat out at a wider delivery, nicking it and Cook takes it at a comfortable height at slip. Stokes punches the air in celebration. The lead is 214.

  14. Ban 238-5published at 55 overs

Rashid ends the over with what could generously be described as a ball that is a bit too full. Sabbir defends it into the off side.

That was not the best shot. Shakib had been playing well, making the most of the off side but that turned too much.

England needed something from somewhere, the change has done it and now they need to go through them.

It was a little bit too close to cut. A little lapse in concentration.

Bowled 'im! And it's celebrated in suitably subdued style. Shakib greets Rashid by slicing a long hop through the covers for four. But Rashid pushes him back and finally, as Shakib shapes to cut, he gets a nick and it rattles into his stumps. Bairstow cheers, while everyone else contents themselves with a low-five. The lead is 214.

  19. Ban 234-4published at 54 overs

Rashid is loosening up at mid on, which suggests we'll see a change. Stokes meanwhile continues, clipping Shakib on the pad but that was sliding down leg. Bairstow finishes up the over with a cracking take as Stokes spears one down the leg side. He has kept well this morning.

Andrew Benton: Is the ball unusually slippery this morning?

Andrew Reyes: Dreadful drop by Duckett. Simply not good enough. Poor Ansari should have had a fifer.

David: Duckett is one bad innings away from a seriously short test career. You don't drop those. Harsh on Zafar
