    Drinks break

Ansari finishes his over with Mushfiqur and Shakib content to prod and poke around for the singles. They take a single, Stokes hits the stumps with a fine throw from backward point, but he's in. And that will be drinks.

  2. Missed stumpingpublished at 46.1 overs

    Ban 204-4

Shakib comes harrumphing down the wicket, misses and Bairstow can't complete the stumping. Having said that, that ball came quickly and at shoulder height to Bairstow. That would have been an unbelievable take. As it happens, it spins away for four byes. Bairstow is going to end up with an awful lot of byes to his name without having done anything wrong.

  4. Ban 200-4published at 46 overs

Mushfiqur attempts to get off the mark with an awful bit of running. He runs down the wicket, drops the ball into mid on and sets off despite the advancing Woakes. Shakib yells "no!", Mushfiqur does an about turn and he's home before Bairstow can get the bails off. That'll be a wicket maiden.

Kayes has had some luck and I think Moeen deserves that wicket. He's responding to his responsibilities, he's not given much away and got some turn. That was a classic dismissal for an off-spinner.

Kayes lbw Moeen 78 (Ban 200-4)

Moeen's made the breakthrough for England, relying on his bowling rather than the fielders around the bat. Kayes, who hasn't been in rhythm this morning, plants a leg in front and attempts to sweep. He misses, the ball traps him in front of middle and that's out. Shakib advises him not to review and he departs with a lead of 176.

I am itching desperately for Stokes now. I wanted to see him bowl first thing.

  8. Ban 200-3published at 45 overs

Cook takes a long time setting the field for Ansari, opting to go on the defensive. Shakib comes charging down the pitch but defends rather than swinging his arms. That's too short, and too leg side again from Ansari, but Shakib watches it past him. The last ball isn't as lucky, as Shakib sweeps, it loops into the air and away for four runs. That's the 200 up.

  10. Ban 196-3published at 44 overs

Moeen beats Shakib's outside edge with one that pitches on middle and spins past the off stump. England's batsmen must have a nervous look at one another every time they see one turn like that. Stokes fumbles in the field and fizzes in a return throw that is so fierce it knocks Bairstow off balance.

Ansari will continue. Can he get his line right? He's getting some decent turn, but there's too much slipping down that leg side. There's a few singles before England concede four more byes down the leg side, as a ball spins away past a diving Cook at slip.

England will be telling themselves that you can get a rollercoaster of wickets, but you have to take your chances.

Of the two spinners today I'd say Moeen has been more impressive but Ansari is learning on the job. Ansari has not bowled so well to the left-handers - there have been too many balls down the leg side and I'd take him off now and get one of the seamers on.

  14. Ban 187-3published at 42 overs

Bangladesh steal a handful of singles from the rest of Moeen's over, while an unimpressed Stokes shakes his head and Root stares accusingly at his palms. England need to cling on to one of these chances.

The ball went quickly to Root's right, it turned and bounced and came too quickly for him. He's standing quite close. Moeen has bowled quite well but not had any luck.

Now Joe Root puts one down at slip! That was a cracker from Moeen. It bounces and turns up onto an unsuspecting Kayes, who edges it towards slip and a diving Root can't hold it. It went quickly and Root was diving to his right, but he still got a hand to it. Close but no dice again for England.

Kayes top edges a sweep and Cook takes the catch at leg slip. He jogs off in celebration but it's not a jubilant one, and indeed, that's come off Kayes' forearm. Shakib squeezes a single through the two slip fielders, before Kayes thumps another sweep shot into the deep. Just a single.

Ooh, that's alright from Moeen. A shorter ball stays straight and sneaks underneath Kayes' attempted cut, but it's gone through Bairstow's legs and away for four byes. Kayes then sweeps, unfurling that shot that served him so well yesterday. There's shouts of catch but Ballance, in the deep, is too far back to get there.
