  1. Australia make six changespublished at 06:00 Greenwich Mean Time 20 November 2016

    It's finally happened.

Troubled Australia have turned to an Englishman to sort out their Test team. Sort of.

Matt Renshaw, a 20-year-old opener born in Middlesbrough, has been called up for the third Test against South Africa in Adelaide starting on Thursday.

The left-hander, who moved to New Zealand in 2003 then on to Queensland in 2008, was a childhood friend of Joe Root.

He is one of six changes for the Aussies, who have already lost the three-Test series 2-0 as part of a five-match losing run.

Adil Rashid carries on his search for a five-for and find himself staring down Mohammed Shami. Shami plays sensibly, a lovely little drive on the back foot getting him off strike. Rashid tosses it up to Jayant Yadav but Yadav can't get it away, which means Shami will face James Anderson. We might have an extra half hour ahead, given India are nine down.

Jayant Yadav has decided he doesn't much fancy Mohammed Shami's batting. He turns down two easy singles off James Anderson and darts back to make sure he stays on strike. Anderson sends down a short ball that a sprawling Ben Duckett can't cut off, and Yadav keeps the strike.

Is there a sadder sight than a batsman having a huge heave-ho at a delivery, and it trickling pathetically away along the ground? That's just happened to Mohammed Shami, who was aiming to send Adil Rashid out of the ground. Mind you, he's making no mistake with that one. Another huge slog goes high, well over Joe Root's head in the deep and over the rope for six.

The India physio has come on to have a look at Umesh Yadav, who has a bit of a knee niggle. England, meanwhile, stand in their fielding positions and wait.

The fall of these wickets probably enhances India's chances of winning, but the draw is less likely than an England win. This morning has made it more interesting.

Seems like a rubbish view that, James. I've been indoors for so long I've forgotten what sunshine looks like. James Anderson continues while an irked Virat Kohli watches on for the balcony. This isn't what he wanted when India marched out at 98-3 this morning.

The bad ball that has so far been absent from Adil Rashid's spell makes an appearance now, with a rubbish long hop that new man Mohammed Shami pulls away for four. Still, Rashid's figures make for nice reading: 4-65 from 20 overs.

It was a nice leg-break but it was interesting watching Rashid's reaction - he barely celebrated. It was not a clean catch by Bairstow - it almost went up into his armpit - but he clung on.

Lovely from Adil Rashid; he beats Umesh Yadav with the wrong 'un before bringing him forward again. The ball takes the edge of Umesh's bat and Jonny Bairstow clings on with his armpit behind the stumps.

India are well-placed. Let's say India get another 20 - they will be hot favourites, but a draw has almost gone. An England win is now more likely than a draw.

James Anderson fires through another over, beating Umesh Yadav with a beauty from the final ball. Umesh was caught playing away from his body and Anderson, who hasn't got that awkward bounce Stuart Broad managed, grimaces as it skims between bat and stumps.

Rashid has bowled more overs than any English spinner. His status is rising. He is the man Cook is turning to, rather than Moeen.

Umesh Yadav has joined Jayant Yadav at the crease. It's been a good performance from Adil Rashid this morning. He's been more controlled.

You can't blame the wicket for that one. Rashid tossed the ball up and Jadeja, who hit a huge six earlier, didn't quite middle it. Moeen didn't have to move.

Ah. You thought that might happen. Adil Rashid tosses a legbreak up, Ravindra Jadeja's eyes light up, he hauls it into the deep and all Moeen Ali has to do is jog forward and take a comfortable catch. Not the cleverest shot you'll see today.
