  1. Ind 450-7published at 141 overs

    India lead by 50 runs

The square is now almost completely covered in shadow as Moeen delivers what could well be the penultimate over of the day. Jayant plays out a tame maiden.

  2. Ind 450-7published at 140 overs

Rashid toils away to no avail. Five singles added. India reach 450. England just want today to be over. Two overs remain in the day.

Virat Kohli is ranked number one in the world in Twenty20s, number two in one-day internationals and number three in Tests.

  4. Ind 446-7published at 139 overs

Cook straps some shin pads on and becomes a third man in around the bat as Moeen continues. There is a huge appeal for a catch behind as Jayant tries to flick a ball down leg but the umpire is unmoved. Cook is powerless with his review bank empty. Snicko shows that it would have been out. You can roll your eyes now.

  6. Ind 445-7published at 138 overs

Brilliant from Kohli. He waited for Rashid's full ball to pitch and struck it hard against the spin, over mid-on for four. England have exhausted their plans. They've got nothing. They are Wile E. Coyote, turning to the audience after running off a cliff and waving in anticipation of the fall.

Ruth Brooksbank: Bring Joe Root back on, we need to wrap up this innings.

  8. Ind 440-7published at 137 overs

    Kohli 138, Jayant 28

England will ruing that dropped chance off Jayant. He has looked solid since and is even producing a moment of attacking class - exhibit A: a cover drive off Moeen to register another boundary.

You need to get in Kohli's ear more. Getting in his head is only way to get him out. Chirp, chirp and more chirp. He will rise to the bait eventually.

    Nick

On today's form England would need Chuck Norris to get rid of Kohli.

  10. Ind 435-7published at 136 overs

    Lead by 35 runs

Rashid is back in place of Anderson. Such is India's dominance, Jayant treats the England spinner with contempt, leaning in to a drive to send the ball wide of mid-off for four.

A single from Kohli makes him the top scorer in the match.

Former India captain on BBC Test Match Special

It rates very much at the top. It has been a magnificent innings. He hasn't put a foot wrong apart from that caught-and-bowled opportunity to Rashid. he has been absolutely terrific. He knew he needed to be there to make sure India got closer to the England total - and now they have passed it.

  12. Ind 429-7published at 135 overs

    Jayant 19, Kohli 136

Luck. A huge slice of it. Moeen tosses the ball up and Jayant has a go but inside edges the ball past his own stumps and away to the boundary.

The number nine shows more discipline with a drive through cover for two and an open-faced dab to wide third man for one.

  13. Ind 422-7published at 134 overs

In contrast to Woakes, Anderson finds a consistent line outside off but Jayant leaves well before stealing a single from the one loose ball - the last.

My name is Captain Mockers and from here I can only see a Kohli double century and an India lead of 220.

The lead is mounting. It's a really good game of cricket but England have got a lot of batting to do tomorrow - it will be very difficult.

  16. Ind 421-7published at 133 overs

    Lead by 21 runs

Poor from Woakes. These two don't need any help in scoring, especially Kohli, but his line, which veers too often to leg, invites them to do just that. Three singles added. Nine overs remain in the day.

Dave Wood: Can we introduce a one bounce rule for catching Kohli?

Cornelius Lysergic: Kohli out? Trapdoor under the crease, remote control in Cook's pocket.

Mihir: How do you get Kohli out? Take the other 10 wickets.

  19. Ind 417-7published at 132 overs

Kohli is taking the mickey out of England now. He picks up on a slight lapse of line from Jimmy and whips him past mid-wicket for four. Another 50 partnership comes up.

Kohli continues to demonstrate all the supreme skills in his locker with a rapid readjustment to steer a rising Anderson ball to third man. A lesser batsman (ie. every other batsman) would likely have been undone by that.

That is one of the most futile reviews we have seen in this series. And that's both England's reviews burnt off.
