Jonny Bairstow is in following the dismissal of Moeen and has to fend off four nasty, spitting balls from Jadeja. He manages. Just.

09:00 GMT 11 December 2016Cheers Amy. Well, part of me was hoping that in my time away England might at least frustrate India. But there is a danger now they might not even take the Test into a fifth day.
We've got just over 33 overs of scheduled play before the close. The first of those will be beginning in a few seconds...

What on earth has Ramps been doing for the last 18 months? Technically England are getting worse! Head held shame!

Marc Fletcher: Bayliss has been brilliant for the ODI team but feel like we're going backwards in tests? Split the coaching roles?

Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match SpecialIt is a lovely catch. He anticipated it. Jadeja bowls it quicker than England. Warne took his wickets at 43 in India, but these India bowlers bowl it quicker. Moeen isn't going to play the turning ball. You can play firm at the quick ball but not the turning one. You need to wait and use soft hands. Waiting is the hardest thing to do.

And with that, it's time for tea. Joe Root trudges off, followed by a much more jubilant India.

Moeen has bowled 53 overs and spent 14 hours in the field so it's not surprising he's made a mess of that. He tried to turn Jadeja around the corner but Vijay took a terrific catch at leg gully, moving quickly to his right and snaffling the ball with one hand. A two ball duck for Moeen, and India are right on top.

Root responds to that review with a lovely work of the wrists to shovel a boundary through mid wicket. His face when India reviewed that was a picture. A shake of the head, a grin, a walk down the pitch to lean on his bat and watch the big screen.

Nothing. Root missed that by a distance. What a daft review.

Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match SpecialIt is fraught. It is not like any England batsman is in control in the way that Kohli was.

Has Root been caught at bat-pad? India love it, Root's shaking his head. The umpire's given it not out on the field but Kohli reviews.

Moeen is welcomed to the wicket by a quick delivery from Jadeja, similar to the one that dismissed Cook. Moeen greets it with the full face of the bat. Jadeja walks away to low gives and grins from his teammates.
