So where were we? Ah yes, England's pre-Christmas struggles in India.

But I'll tell you what, England aren't bad at this white ball stuff nowadays.

Returning ODI captain Eoin Morgan says there are plenty of reasons to be hopeful that England can compete on Indian pitches.

Not so long ago, his England side thrilled on their way to the World Twenty20 final in India (though I don't think Ben Stokes would want to be reminded of how that one ended).

England ODI captain Eoin Morgan says he would've bowled first too had he won the toss.

"We're not sure what the wicket is going to do, we'll have to do well," he added.

"One of the challenges is adapting to conditions and this is no different. Our guys have played plenty of cricket and we're looking forward to start of the series.

"We've built some nice stepping stones to where we want to be - we're a long way off being contenders for a major competition but this is part of the process."

    Welcome.

So here we are again - England in India: Volume 2.

The first part wasn't too pretty - a 4-0 Test series thumping and captain Cook left scratching his head over whether to continue in the role.

And us left still waiting to hear the outcome of that head-scratching.
