Target 297
Liam Plunkett offers up a touch of width and Jason Mohammed really likes the look of that. A nice bit of timing as he works the ball through the gap and away to the boundary. A bit of miscommunication has the batsman momentarily worried as Mohammed is left hovering, but Adil Rashid's throw from the deep isn't great and they make it home.

I wonder if Jason Mohammed might bite the bullet and flail at everything knowing he can't run properly and there's some power-hitters to come.
Smart work from Plunkett, too, going shorter and knowing that Carter would chase after him. Roy was very quick off the mark and put in a full length dive to snaffle the catch. Jason Mohammed, meanwhile, is getting a little treatment for a spot of cramp, while the imposing figure of Jason Holder makes his way to the crease.

Roy caught that at the very tip of the blades of grass. Brilliant!
Carter c Roy b Plunkett 52 (WI 190-5)
Jason Roy! What a grab! Jonathan Carter goes for the big heave-ho and Roy, haring in from the boundary, dives and gets his fingertips just under the ball. He cradles it in his hand for a second before chucking it up into the air in celebration. Excellent bowling and fielding.

I'm still backing England because they bat so deep and could always kick on at the end. West Indies, while these two are batting well, only have two batsmen left and the end could come quickly.
Target 297
The players are re-hydrated. Mohammed gives himself some space and looks to club a short ball but he misses completely. Woakes bangs another one in and this time Mohammed connects - it's high over on the leg-side but falls short of the fielders.
Better from England with just five off the over.
But the decibel reading from the crowd has gone up a notch or two - the West Indies fans know their team is in this match.
WI 183-4
Everyone stops for a quick drink, which gives England a chance to regroup. I wonder if it's time for a bit of Ben Stokes?

The batsmen are dovetailing each other. Mohammed has slowed down but is keeping things ticking.

Why is Morgan considered a great tactician? He almost always rolls out 20 straight overs of spin, mix it up for goodness sake.

That is an excellent knock from Jonathan Carter, after a slow start. He deals with Liam Plunkett's return by slashing him away to the boundary, completely ignoring England's attempts to inject a bit of a pace into things. A raise of the bat as he reaches his fourth ODI half-century. He's certainly cracked on from a sluggish start - he's moved from 3 from 17 deliveries to 50 from 43 balls. Nicely done.

There'll be one or two anxious looks on the faces of the England fielders now.
Target 297
Not only can he hit big, Jonathan Carter is speedy between the wicket. He slashes at a wide ball and in no time at all has returned back to his crease for two runs.
A play and a miss from Jason Mohammed, who is a bit of a spectator at the moment, to end the over.

That was enormous. A gargantuan hit, out of the ground. It might end up on one of the beaches, the way that was struck.

That was a brilliant shot. It was pitched short and Carter was on to it in a flash. The ball has yet to be returned.
Target 297
After 18 overs of spin in a row, we return to a bit of pace as Chris Woakes comes in.
Has that gone out the ground?! Jonathan Carter swivels on his back foot and pulls for six. Bang out of the middle of the bat. It's in the road. I think it missed some parked cars. Just.
Mohammed 54, Carter 36
A big yell from Adil Rashid as Jason Mohammed - now looking a bit pedestrian compared to his mate at the other end - goes down on one knee and misses a sweep. A shake of the head from the umpire. Jonathan Carter still can't pick Rashid's googly though - he's struck on the pad again but that looked to be high and sliding down.

All of a sudden, Jonathan Carter has come to life. He is on fire and giving England something to think about.
Target 297
Carter brings up the 150 in some style. He dances down the track and it's a huge six over long-on. A premeditated reverse-sweep then goes for four. From someone who was struggling to find any runs at the start of his knock, Carter is now on a run-a-ball 35.
We could have a game on here.
