For a smart cricketer, on the part of Kraigg Brathwaite, that was not very smart. Advancing down the pitch wasn't necessary. It was a poor, poor piece of cricket and it's caused his demise. Now England are back in the game.

Brathwaite st Buttler b Ali 42 (WI 118-4)

The partnership has been broken! Awful shot selection from Brathwaite. He advances down the wicket and misses it by a mile. Buttler makes no mistakes behind the stumps.

The last person you would expect to drop a catch as simple as that would be Ben Stokes. He may have done some damage to his finger or his knuckle.

Ben Stokes made a meal of it. He never looked comfortable but it was simple enough and he should have taken it. Will it be costly to the England team?

Dropped catch - WI 117-3published at 29 overs

Oh Ben Stokes! He should have caught that! A one handed pull from Brathwaite goes high and Stokes at mid-wicket can't quite read it, he runs forward and then backtracks. He made a meal of it as he falls back and fails to hold on.

It looks like he has done some damage to his knuckle. He goes off the field and he is sporting a nasty cut. No lockers were hurt.

The rain comes and goes and for the moment it's behaving itself.

Moeen again. He really races through his overs - bowls, runs back to his marker and runs in again. He starts off with four dot balls before a pitched up ball to Mohammed is driven straight back over the his head for a one bounce four.

    Rashid 5-0-33-0

The first six of the game! Rashid tosses it up first ball and Mohammed gives it an almighty wallop. Windies needed that.

Rain is coming down a lot harder, groundsmen in purple T-shirts are in place should they need to run on with the covers.

It's a very well set field, there aren't many options for the batter, so it's a real challenge especially as the pitch lacks the pace to play shots. They will have to find ways to keep the scoring going.

    Cheers, Amy.

Moeen continues. You can see raindrops on the TV cameras but it seems to have calmed down a little - lets hope it was just a passing shower. A solid over from Moeen, just the two runs from it. The hundred is up for the hosts.

Jeremy F : All the pressure built up by quick bowlers is being released by our pie-chuckers aka spinners.

Pete : Here we go again. Seamers doing well. Spinners on. Batting easier and scoring rate increasing. Why?? Should pick our strengths.

    Brathwaite 37, Mohammed 23

The rain is getting slightly heavier, just as Kraigg Brathwaite goes for a big heave-ho over deep mid-wicket. It'll only be a single, though. Sam Billings is earning his money's worth down on the boundary. A nice drive from Brathwaite brings up the 50 partnership between this pair, from 70 deliveries. Good over from Adil Rashid.

It is raining. Just a shower, you'd suspect. The ground staff have the covers in their hands but we'll play on for the time being.

  15. WI 93-3published at 24 overs

Moeen whizzes through another over while the West Indies fans in the stands offer up some words of encouragement. Jason Mohammed heeds their advice and dances to his left, trying to cut furiously away, but the ball just pops into the pitch and trickles away. Just a single from the over.

At the rate they're going at the moment, and without the boundaries, I wonder how much past 200 they will get? About 240 or something is what they will be looking at. But they do have an aggressive middle order.

    Rashid 3-0-19-0

Now then. The West Indies are trying to go big; both Jason Mohammed and Kraigg Brathwaite shape to smash three short deliveries from Adil Rashid down to the boundary, but they can't get their timing right. Mohammed moves his feet, but slaps the ball straight in Sam Billings' direction, before Brathwaite does the same. It's not the easiest wicket to time your shots on.

Finn became the third fastest early today when he dismissed Kieran Powell.

Kraigg Brathwaite snaps his wrist furiously on a straighter delivery from Moeen, but he only gets it to run away for a single. Good work from Moeen, just two from the over, as the clouds lurk overhead.

  20. WI 84-3published at 21 overs

    Brathwaite 29, Mohammed 17

Shot! Kraigg Brathwaite has enough of this poking around malarkey and goes up and over, driving hard for a boundary. Adil Rashid follows it up with a nice delivery that spins past the outside edge, before the googly drifts wide once again. Not quite got his line right yet.

Incidentally, here's what Ruth is referring to -  Australia's superb form in Bangalore  at the moment.
