  1. Eng 292-6published at 46 overs

Nurse drops short and Stokes swings into that - four over cover. He's got 32 off 17. Woakes with four from seven.

  2. Eng 286-6published at 45.3 overs

Down the track comes Chris Woakes, but he misses his shot and ends up kneeing the ball away for a leg bye. Ben Stokes then decides he'd like to launch Ashley Nurse out of the ground, but ends up swishing at nothing.

  3. Eng 285-6published at 45 overs

Alzarri Joseph ends his spell - 4-76 off his 10. Expensive but you can't turn your nose up at a four-wicket return.

  4. Not out - Eng 283-6published at 44.5 overs

Carry on, everyone. It was pitching outside leg.

  5. West Indies reviewpublished at 44.5 overs

Stokes meant that all right - a Lance Klusener-like muscular driven heave through leg for another four. And West Indies have now reviewed an lbw shout against the Durham all-rounder.

  6. Eng 279-6published at 44.3 overs

    Stokes 23, Woakes 2

Ooft, Ben Stokes. A hint of width from Alzarri Joseph and Stokes clobbers it over the field and away for a boundary. Joseph responds with a cracking short ball, plenty of venom behind it, and he's rewarded by watching a top edge fly over short third man and bounce over the boundary rope. Cruel game, this.

I think the West Indies have pulled back marvellously. They've shown some real fight. When you're 2-0 down in a three match series your mannerisms can sway to the wrong side but they've composed well.

  8. Eng 270-6published at 44 overs

The TV replays are showing the ball taking a big chunk out of the pitch in Moeen's dismissal - possibly he was done by it bouncing higher than expected. England's momentum has been checked significantly here. After criticising their bowling earlier, credit to the Windies.

  9. Eng 268-6published at 43.3 overs

The pleasingly named Woakes-Stokes combination in action for England now, and they're under way with a quick single from Ashley Nurse. Stokes chucks everything into a slog-sweep that flies into the deep for a couple of runs.

Well done to this youngster, he's come in today and taken his opportunity. This is frustrating for England, this was the first chance for them to express themselves and practice that batting.

Moeen Ali in now. And out first ball. I was just about to write what a handy player he is for the closing overs. Not today, he's not, providing a return catch for Alzarri Joseph who now has four.

You can't take anything away from Joe Root's 100. But maybe once you've reached a milestone you need to take a second to step back and recompose. Perhaps there was nothing Root could do with that, it shouldn't take away from that 100.

  13. wicket

    Root c C Brathwaite b Joseph 101 (Eng 263-5)

No sooner has he got to his hundred, Joe Root is out. He tries to flick Alzarri Joseph to leg but gets a leading edge and is pouched by Carlos Brathwaite at long-on. A third wicket for Joseph.

    Eng 263-4

Those familiar chants of "Root!" fill the ground in Barbados as Joe Root raises his bat to the sky. A slower ball bouncer from Alzarri Joseph is helped along its way as Root becomes England's second centurion. It was such a scratchy start, but he's grown into his innings.

Nurse is a fabulous bowler, you talk about a lack of confidence in the West Indies but he just seems to show his intent and which area he wants the batsman to hit. He's done a solid job.

Ben Stokes doing what Ben Stokes does. Down the track to Nurse - he didn't quite get to the pitch of the ball and had to stretch for it. No matter, though - when you've got loads of power and are committed to the shot, that's six.

  17. Eng 251-4published at 41.3 overs

Here's Ben Stokes, whipping the ball off his pads to get off strike and bring up England's 250. Joe Root gets down to reverse sweep but Ashley Nurse sees him coming and adjusts, forcing Root to hoick the ball over his shoulder for a single.

Nurse has arguably been their best bowler throughout this series. He just fires it in and gets a bit of drift. England are set for a very big score but if they could hustle through a couple of wickets, you never know.

    Morgan b Nurse 11 (Eng 249-4)

Bowled 'im! Eoin Morgan takes a step to the side, swings - and misses. That's nice from Ashley Nurse, a straighter one that snuck through with a bit of drift and bowled him. Very similar to Morgan's dismissal in the second ODI.

This score could be pretty painful for the West Indies. 300+ has to be on here. If Root stays there a bit longer, we could be in for some fun.
