Oh yes! What a knock by Ben Stokes. Remember, we weren't even sure he'd play this game after he got a knee injury. He was dropped on nought, then again, but now he has his second ODI ton from 77 balls. The second 50 came in only 29 balls.

For a moment it didn't sound perfect off the bat but Stokes gave it enough muscle to clear it well over Rabada's head.

    Stokes six over long-on! He's on 98...

Ben Stokes smashed that gloriously over extra cover. He just waited for it and guided it to the boundary - such is the power of the man it was just one bounce then four in the longest part of the ground. Stokes will be looking to get England to 350.

The sun is trying to peep though as the crowd cheer every time a South Africa fielder picks the ball up cleanly. Dwaine Pretorius to Ben Stokes. I fear for the bowler here. A slap over extra cover for four, then a heave to mid-wicket for two. Stokes into the 90s, Pretorius takes his cap with figures of 1-61.

He should've been out first ball. He should've been out second ball. But Ben Stokes is a freakish cricketer, you never know what you're going to get when he's out there.

    Stokes 85 from 70 balls

Remember when South Africa were amazing in the field? Today they've been rubbish. Farhaan Behardien dives over one on the mid-wicket fence to give Ben Stokes a boundary. The all-rounder is hunting a second ODI ton. England will be thinking about 320.

    The ButtScoop!

Not a joke from South Park, but Jos flicking Andile Phehlukwayo for four.

    Last 10 overs. Seatbelts...

    Stokes 79, Buttler 14

Here's my man Dwaine Pretorius, the sort of face that could make an oak tree swoon. Stokes greets him with a disrespectful reverse sweep for four, then somehow shanks a leading edge for a couple. Pretorius might look like model, but his medium pace is very mid-1990s. Gavin Laursen, Chris Harris, Mark Ealham. You know the type.

Jos Buttler needs to get off strike - there are just some days when you're not going to be able to smash it all round the ground like he usually can.

  12. Eng 210-4published at 39 overs

    Buttler 13 from 23 balls

Jos Buttler hasn't quite found his mojo yet. Moving about, getting hit on the pads, mis-timing, failing to connect with a wide one. Only three singles from the over. No such problems for Ben Stokes today...

The wind has picked up. I can't help but think we might get a drop of the wet stuff. Then again, the sun has just appeared from behind a cloud. Maharaj, the spinner on debut, keeps tossing it up there, with Stokes eventually taking the invitation to hammer straight. England preparing for the onslaught.

Lucky, lucky boy. Jos Buttler survives by the narrowest of margins. Umpire's call, only just less than half of the ball. I still reckon it would have been enough to knock leg stump out of the ground.
