In 90% of grounds that second Stokes boundary would've been a six but the ropes are so far back at the Ageas Bowl.
Stokes 63, Buttler 8
AB de Villiers is still shaking his head. I'd love to know why. Has he asked the ball to be changed, or have the umpires suggested something more sinister? This won't improve his mood, as Stokes twice fetches Keshav Maharaj to the leg-side fence, hitting with the (non-existent) spin.

April Hall: Absolutely slatting it down in Crete. Thank goodness for Test Match Special and cheap, tasty, local wine!
AB de Villiers is still chatting to umpire Rob Bailey, looking thoroughly perplexed when it's all over. I'm not sure I've ever seen AB so miffed. When a Rabada short ball is called wide, most of the South Africa team join AB in looking hacked off. Lots of teapots out there. Cheer up, fellas. You're on tour here until August.

Kyle Utterson: Daft topic talking about handsome men playing Test cricket. That said both Root and Buttler are much better looking.
Run-rate 5.26
Still the left-arm spin of Keshav Maharaj, bowling to Buttler, the first right-hander he's seen today. Stokes plays off the back foot, Buttler the front. Singles as the crowd sing - some will have been on the sauce for about three hours now.
What's going on here? AB de Villiers is having a long, animated chat with the umpires over the state of one of the balls. Is the skipper asking for a change, or have the umpires got a problem? The crowd are jeering too. It takes a while to get back under way, with no change of ball...
Rabada 7-0-30-2
Looking again, it was too close for Morgan to be cutting. It was too full, not wide enough. De Kock had to dive forwards to take a smart catch. Jos Buttler is the new man.

It didn't bounce - I think it hit the under edge. Eoin Morgan was looking good - me and my big mouth! A bit of a nothing delivery, short and wide, but South Africa won't mind.
Morgan c De Kock b Rabada 45 (Eng 175-4)
Finally, South Africa cling on to one and claim a wicket they dearly needed. Eoin Morgan cuts at Kagiso Rabada, gets a little under-edge and Quinton de Kock does the rest behind the stumps. Games just edged back towards being in the balance.

Full of confidence that 50 from Stokes. He had a bit of trouble with the spinner early on but then went up the gears.

A 48-ball half-century for Ben Stokes, who is making South Africa pay for dipping their fingers in butter. His 10th in ODIs.

If you're going to flash, flash hard and Stokes absolutely kitchen-sinked that.
Edged! Over the slip! Ben Stokes, already dropped twice, throws the beans at Kagiso Rabada and slices it over Hashim Amla. To be fair, the way Amla was catching earlier, he'd probably have dropped it. Stokes celebrates by biffing down the ground for four. He's on 49...

Most handsome man to play international cricket?? Chris Tremlett any day of the week.

Morgan's fiddling has actually forced an early drinks break. In the meantime, here's Ben Stokes hitting the ball a long way...

Comedian & BBC Test Match Special statistician
England have scored 296 or more in 10 straight matches. Prior to that they scored 236 in Cape Town in February 2016.
The last time they registered a score under around 220 in a home game was against Australia at Old Trafford in September 2015, when they scored 138.
Morgan 45, Stokes 41
Left-arm spin of Keshav Maharaj back into the attack, Morgan dabbling and nurdling the ball around. Maharaj isn't really turning the ball, but he threatens the outside edge of both of these left-handers with a little drift. Morgan, who was hit earlier, has to carry out some repairs to his helmet.

You think that 300 is always on the cards for England now and if a couple of them get off to a flyer then it's often 350.
