If you do start badly there is a point where you do have to rein things in. I'm not saying bat like Geoffrey Boycott but you have to show some common sense.

Speaking of the Champions Trophy, a reminder that BBC Sport will show highlights of the ICC Champions Trophy on BBC Two every night of the tournament from 1-18 June and you can also follow every delivery via Test Match Special's ball-by-ball commentary on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra, online and digital services.

A very good win for South Africa, but they earned the right by putting England on the back foot this morning. No team can recover from 20-6 - no matter how good they are. It's a little hiccup heading into the Champions Trophy, but I still think they go into it as one of the favourites.
SA 156-3 (Duminy 28* De Villiers 27*)
A nice way to do it, Duminy with a fluent cover drive to the boundary off Willey and at 16:28 BST it's all over. The series ends 2-1 to England and we look ahead to the Champions Trophy, which begins on Thursday.

I gave up cricket after a season for my village where I just couldn't get into double figures. Brilliant reflex catches, freak balls that didn't bounce and one or two rubbish shots all conspired against me. But the final straw came at Hamworthy where I kept wicket and my helmet got into double figures from two consecutive balls down the leg side that took two freak bounces and hit my helmet behind me, in the process winning the opposition the game. Said helmet now lives in my dad's garage as we are no longer friends. Anyone else have any stories about how cruel a game it can be?

Target 154
They are beginning to drift out of the Grace Gates now. Not an early enough finish to get down to Alton for Auntie Nita's birthday but I can wish them all a lovely time. As Ken Bruce would say: "here's your chance to say any hellos". Duminy collects two more off Finn into the offside.

I'm not too concerned about England. I'd much rather be in their position going into the Champions Trophy than South Africa's.
Target 154
The rain is falling quite steadily now as Willey returns. It was 80mph but De Villiers played a delightful little sweep to the boundary, which brings a gasp of appreciation from the crowd. Just the 12 needed now.

Toby Roland-Jones is the first person to bowl two maidens on his England ODI debut since Matthew Hoggard in 2001.
Target 154
Runs coming a little more freely now, Duminy using the pace of Finn to guide his second boundary neatly away backward of square and De Villiers coming down the wicket to crunch a straight drive to the long-on fence. The end is nigh.
Target 154
There are no floodlights for the match we can see taking place beyond Lord's, where a batsman in what looks like a gold Aussie Rules vest is at the crease hitting out. Back at the Home of Cricket, an authoritative drive from De Villiers at Roland-Jones brings him his first boundary.
Target 154
De Villiers finally gets off the mark from his 13th ball. Might have been close had Morgan's throw been a good one but it was wide of the mark. The South Africa skipper could wrap this up quickly with a few lusty blows but we have not seen any yet in the gloomy conditions.

That's a very fine over from Toby Roland-Jones. He did everything but get the batsman out.
Target 154
Accurate again from Roland-Jones, fully justifying the four slips given to him. Only 11 runs from the last five overs for South Africa.
Target 154
Very rare that AB de Villiers takes 12 balls to open his account but he is still on nought. It's getting like a night match out there under the lights now. Finn is only up around 83mph but he is seaming the ball away and it is not easy for the batsmen.
Target 154
Now more than 20 overs have been completed the DLS target comes into the equation and it is 60, so fair to say South Africa are on top. A bank of dark clouds heading in from behind the pavilion but still dry at the moment. Duminy clips Roland-Jones off the back foot for four, the fourth boundary conceded by the impressive debutant.
Target 154
The end of Ball's allocation and a shame for England because he was angling the ball into the right-handers superbly. He finishes with 2-43 from his 10.
