At the other end, David Willey keeps the pressure on. He drags his length back and the batsman stay circumspect, knocking the ball around for the odd single.

Just the 12 runs from Chris Jordan's opening over. He's had stronger starts.

Martin Sykes: Will miss Blowers. A link to the "golden age" of TMS - the days of Fred, Johnners , Arlott & The Bearded Wonder.
Chris Jordan is trying some slower balls and getting them horribly, horribly wrong. The first one is out of the back of the hand and it's so wide, it only just hits the cut strip. And again, this time the ball bouncing just before it passes the batsman. And that'll be six! JJ Smuts opens his arms and nails a shot straight down the ground.
Marcus Trescothick is suited and booted up in one of the hospitality boxes, watching on as Chris Jordan comes steaming in.

Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
I was shocked to hear about Henry Blofeld because we all thought he'd keep going and going. He's a trooper but he has made a good decision. I've been privileged to sit next to him now and again for 25 years. Don't worry - you'll see plenty more of him, no doubt. Probably at your local theatre.
Eoin Morgan dives like a footballer looking for a penalty to cut off a hammered cut from JJ Smuts. A magnificent bit of fielding from the England captain. That's not quite as good from Chris Jordan, letting the ball run through his legs and away for four. Nothing worse than the audible sigh of a ground full of people as you miss a simple bit of fielding.
Four! That's the first runs for South Africa as JJ Smuts swings his arms to a wide delivery and drives David Willey to the covers. That'll make him feel better after he fell first ball at Southampton. Willey responds with a cracker that lifts a little, surprising the batsman.
12,432 days have passed since England's men last played at Taunton. It'll be David Willey to break that long spell, as he bowls to JJ Smuts.
Here's Blowers, in his own words, describing his decision to retire from commentating.
He'll remain the finest dressed man in any press box, in my eyes.
Jerusalem is currently belting out around Taunton as the players make their way out. The fantastically named JJ Smuts will open for South Africa, along with Reeza Hendricks.
Somerset all-rounder Peter Trego is ready for an evening's entertainment...

South Africa captain AB De Villiers: "We would have bowled first. I am happy to bat and have an opportunity to put right what went wrong in the first game and set a better total. We are putting a bit of pace on it tonight with our changes."
The Women's World Cup gets going tomorrow, with England taking on India at Derby and New Zealand facing Sri Lanka at Bristol.
If you're not familiar with the competition, our very own Mark Mitchener has put together a handy guide to this year's tournament.
England captain Eoin Morgan: "It looks a good surface - harder than a lot of those we haveplayed on this summer and the boundaries are smaller than most, so we are happy chasing. We haven't been here since 1999 so if we can put two good scores on the board we can entertain and get more cricket down here.
"Tom Curran is a highly-skilled cricketer. White ball cricket comes naturally to him. He has big potential for us. Liam Livingstone is a power-hitter in the middle order. His opportunity comes today and it is great to see."
Cast your minds back to the Champions Trophy final - it was only a few days ago, after all - when India bowler Jasprit Bumrah had Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman caught behind for three, only for video replays to show he'd overstepped.
Fakhar went on to make a century as Pakistan won - and it seems that traffic police in Jaipur have had a bit of fun at Bumrah's expense. Welcome back indeed...

South Africa are currently without coach Russell Domingo, who made an emergency return home after his mother was seriously injured in a car accident.
Domingo returned to Port Elizabeth on Thursday, AFP reports, and will miss the remainder of the Twenty20 series.
The tourists hope he will be back for the tour match against England Lions, which begins next Thursday.

On a sunny day in 2005, I was lounging in the back of my parents' car on a family trip down South with Test Match Special on. I can distinctly remember the glee in the plummy voice of Henry Blofeld, that giddy excitement as Andrew Flintoff smashed Brett Lee out of the ground for an enormous six.
I'm an unashamed Blowers fan. I find his enthusiasm infectious, funny and comforting, and for me, he is the voice that I remember from a childhood listening to TMS.
So, as Blowers hangs up his mic after 45 years, we want your favourite Blowers moments. Send them in to us using #bbccricket on Twitter, text us on 81111 or email tms@bbc.co.uk
It's a special day for the people of Taunton, who are hosting England for the first time since 1983. Our colleagues at BBC Points West put together this package which speaks to the head groundsman Simon Lee, Somerset legend Vic Marks and the mother of a current England star...
There's three changes to South Africa's line-up too. They've gone for all-out pace with Chris Morris, Morne Morkel and Dane Paterson. Seems a little odd, given how static South Africa's batting looked the other night...
