During the lunch break, Surrey and England stalwart Micky Stewart - father of Alec - unveiled the plaque bearing his name on The Oval's Members' Pavillion.

The two fine men of Surrey are on TMS now.

Well done to Camberwell Green Cricket Club for getting here to The Oval - a couple of years ago they turned up with tickets for the wrong day. Last year, the person bringing the tickets left them at home. This year, they've actually got in the ground - they bought eight tickets for six people, just in case.

Tuffers adds: "Camberwell Green? Was it Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb?"

Jennings must have scored the streakiest first 18 runs you'll ever see, but he's been good since then.

The rain is falling persistently now, and the Abraham Lincoln-bearded Aleem Dar removes his hat for some reason and beckons the covers on.

    Jennings 34, Westley 28

Jennings has been dropped on six and then successfully reviewed an lbw decision when on 33, which you can look at again below. A steadier over for Morris and just the single results. Time for a drink and a cup of tea would be most welcome as we have not had one all day.

Tom Westley's a bit bigger than I thought he'd be. I thought he was a shortish lad.

Ben Thapa‏: Even if Westley gets out now, I'm excited we've found a number three at last. Organised, busy like Root, bats at a tempo. Problem solved!

A few more umbrellas up now as Rabada beats Westley driving forward outside the off stump. It was that closed face again, perhaps if it had been straight he might have nicked it.

Philander's off the field, Maharaj hasn't been that threatening yet, Morkel and Rabada have bowled their stints, and Morris has gone for eight in his first four balls - could be some tricky captaincy for South Africa.

    Jennings 33, Westley 28

Chris Morris went for 91 from 17 overs in the first innings and Westley strikes him for two boundaries in his opening over from the Pavilion End, a sumptuous cover drive and a back foot punch. A suited gentleman has a red umbrella up, but still has his sunglasses on.

Jennings and Westley should now just bed down and treat this as competitive batting practice. Runs don't matter now - just get experience of Test cricket.

Jennings calmly plays out a maiden to Rabada. A gaggle of ex-Surrey players - not sure what the collective noun might be - gather to celebrate the 100th Test - men's Test - at The Oval. Chris Lewis is there too. I bet he has a few stories.

Another straight drive from Westley at Morkel, this one comes a little off the inside edge and Rabada hauls it in before the boundary, a huge slab of turf flying up like a 16oz steak.

Three slips and a gully for Rabada to Jennings under the floodlights and he has trapped the left-hander on the pad. Umpire Wilson says yes but there is a review.

With Cook gone, Jennings will relax and push on. Nothing worse than batting with an expert when you're under pressure!

    Jennings 33, Westley 17

Jennings is a new man, this time it's a beautifully controlled clip off his toes to the mid-wicket boundary. Morkel is still up at 88mph and England's left-handed opener gets another inside edge that trickles to safety. A delightful straight drive from Westley rockets back past the perplexed paceman. These two are going nicely.
