It's pretty dark here. A huge cloud has just rolled in from behind the pavilion and the floodlights haven't yet been turned on. Presumably, though, bad light is not a thing in day-night cricket.

Roland-Jones continues, three slips and a gully, and a thick outside edge promptly goes flying through backward point and away to the boundary. Blackwood then gets a short ball that he pushes forward at - oh, and it's broken his bat! There's a big crack running up the splice of the bat, and a twelfth man is dispatched with two bats for him to choose from. Ooh, and Blackwood's used his new bat to great effect, lofting Roland-Jones straight back over his head for four. What a shot!

A West Indies innings is over quicker than...published at 15:27 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

England bowler Graham Onions said West Indies were worse than a county side. Now Oakley CC reckon they would give them a run for their money. With this collapse gathering pace, we're asking what would last longer than a West Indies innings?

Ooh! Jermaine Blackwood flashes a cut at a Stokes delivery but the ball is far too close for that shot, and he edges through his legs and onto his foot, the ball somehow rolling just beyond his stumps. He was so close to chopping on there. He places another awkward looking shot to a short delivery, trying to flick it off his hip and ending up with one foot off the ground and darting through for a single. Stokes then tries to bounce the imposing figure of Jason Holder, and Holder swats a delivery away like its an annoying fly to pick up another single.

    Roland-Jones 5-0-22-2

It's horrid out there. Windy, blustery, grey, spots of rain hitting the camera lens as Jason Holder blocks out successive Roland-Jones deliveries. Joe Root gets his mitts on the ball and furiously shines it against his trousers, but it still has that dull, scuffed look about it. Just a single from the over.

That was a terrible misjudgment from Dowrich. It was straight, right at the stumps, and he's missed it by a mile. Ben Stokes continues with captain Jason Holder the latest man to arrive at the crease. He at least has the joy of watching Jermaine Blackwood turn a short ball away from his body and down to the boundary rope. A single brings Holder on strike, and he gets off the mark with a thick edge that goes through the gap between slip and gully and away for four. Stokes responds by beating him outside off stump with a lovely delivery that shapes back in towards the batsman.

Dowrich is playing across the line, playing to wide mid-on but it's hit him on the back leg whilst in the crease. You can't get away with that at this level.

    Dowrich lbw Roland-Jones 4 (WI 101-6)

He's missed a straight one! That is really bad, I'm afraid. Toby Roland-Jones just bowled a straight ball, Dowrich tried to whip it off his pads, completely missed it and was struck on the back leg which is right in front of off stump. Umpire Erasmus doesn't need long to think about that. It's horribly out.

That's one way to respond - crashing your next delivery for four! Stokes offers up a kindly long hop and Blackwood frees his arms, cutting the ball through cover. Blackwood works a single as Stokes fires one into the pads, and he and Stokes share a quick smile and shoulder pat as Stokes makes sure he's OK from that hit. Shane Dowrich then gets a short ball and fends it rather aerially away from his body.

Blackwood is not a big man. Stokes went wider of the crease but the batsman misjudged it - it wasn't short enough to duck. He's okay.

  14. ouch!

    WI 91-5published at 29.2 overs

Oh! Jermaine Blackwood has been stuck on the helmet by Ben Stokes! Stokes is straight up the pitch to make sure he's okay, as do the England fielders. That's a misjudgment from Blackwood. It was short from Stokes but Blackwood, trying to duck it, got into a real mess and got struck on the side of the grille. Thea wasn't short enough to duck and it made a horrible noise as it connected. The physio comes on but Blackwood, thankfully, seems to be okay.

For those saying West Indies wouldn't be in this position with the experience of the likes of Gayle and Bravo, or even in the days of Lara - you're conveniently forgetting that West Indies in those days were also being dismissed cheaply against England. This isn't something that has happened last week, last month or two years ago. It's been desperately bad for a long time.

This morning has seen four wickets fall for 44 runs. Wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich is the new man at the crease, and he gets a little squared up as he pushes a delivery down towards point.

    S Hope b Roland-Jones 15 (WI 89-5)

That's the end of that partnership, and the end of all the Hope puns you've been sending us. Roland-Jones pitched it up, Shai Hope pushed forward loosely, away from his body, and he got a thick inside edge onto his stumps. He turns around and stares rather ruefully at the splattered stumps but, in truth, that was a poor shot. Too loose, a big gap between bat and body, and the result is Shai Hope walking back to the dressing room for 15.

That was really good timing from Blackwood. He didn't try and hit it too hard but he's got a real punch on him. It's a wonderful shot.

  20. WI 88-4published at 28 overs

    Blackwood 25, S Hope 15

That's nice from Jermaine Blackwood, hopping onto the back foot and forcing away for a couple of runs through cover. Stokes is just drifting a touch wide here, and Blackwood thumps a shorter delivery through the off side for four. That shot was all about the timing, and the same batsman pops a leggy delivery off his hips to keep the strike.
