  2. Broad's route to 384published at 20:47 British Summer Time 19 August 2017

Wicket number 382: This was so plumb that he didn't even need to appeal, trapping Roston Chase in front.

Wicket number 383: Two in two for Broad as West Indies captain Jason Holder edges a cracking delivery to Alastair Cook at first slip.

Wicket number 384: Bowled him! Broad goes past Sir Ian Botham to move to second in the list of leading English wicket takers.

    Roland-Jones 6-2-18-1

Roland-Jones beats Alzarri Joseph with a delivery that nips back, passing the edge of the bat as the batsman pushes forward. There's some good carry from Roland-Jones as Joseph swivels underneath a short ball that rises on him, before he rounds off the over with another off stump delivery that beats the edge yet again.

    Time for drinks.

Always love to see England winning but this is tinged with a touch of sadness. World cricket needs a strong West Indies team. This sorry situation needs sorting.

James Anderson is back on to try and tidy up this tail - never a strong point for England - and Joseph cuts for a single. Anderson responds with a fine yorker, an off cutter that sears in towards Roach's toes, and he does well to jab his bat down on it. Just a single from the over.

The problem for West Indies is that I don't think the pink ball has done as much as the red ball in the South Africa series. I think Headingley and Lord's won't get much better for them.

  7. WI 136-8published at 42 overs

That'll be four, as Roach crashes a wide delivery through backward point. Roland-Jones responds with a ball that hugs off stump and beats Roach's tentative prod forward.

    WI 132-8

It's generally quite a good hint that, if your bowler doesn't appeal, the batsman might not have hit it. Not a smidgen of an edge on that. Bairstow has the look of a guilty schoolboy as he gets sent back behind the stumps.

Here's Toby Roland-Jones, which gives Broad a chance to bask in his figures of 10-4-34-3. Kemar Roach drives at a decent Roland-Jones delivery, Bairstow appeals, Cook joins in about half a second later - and somehow, Bairstow has persuaded Root to review it!

Broad's bowled really well today - he's run in hard. I think he will have a nice cold one tonight. He likes a glass or two of fine vino.

England need two wickets for victory

A four! A rarity in these parts, as Alazarri Joseph gets to the pitch of a Moeen delivery and drives it nicely through the covers. Moeen has a quick natter with Root as they stick a man in at point, a short leg and silly point still lurking under Joseph's nose, but the batsman defends comfortably back down the pitch.

The West Indies players may be getting a false sense of security from the flat, dead pitches in their home country. It's all about being able to cope with the different conditions and challenges that they will face in Test cricket.

  15. WI 126-8published at 40 overs

Short from Broad and Roach ducks it, and it absolutely takes off as it skids over the back of Roach's jumper. Bairstow, moving to his left, can only stand and watch the ball going flying to the right and away to the boundary. That's nine byes in very quick succession. Roach has a flirt at a delivery outside off stump and just avoids getting an edge on it, while down on the boundary, Toby Roland-Jones wheels his arms around.

Stuart Broad is now 15th overall in the all-time list of Test wicket-takers and second for England. In Anderson and Broad, it is also the first time that England have their two leading wicket-takers bowling in the same match since Fred Trueman and Brian Statham in 1963.

    Moeen 12-2-48-2

The crowd are serenading Moeen, who has four men around the bat, as Roach has an almighty swipe at another low delivery that hits Bairstow on the foot and goes away for byes. Bairstow shakes his head - there wasn't an awful lot he could do about that.

That was such a good ball from Broad. There's few sights more pleasing than a completely splattered pair of stumps. He's only 31, too. There's plenty of wickets left in those legs, I suspect. Alzarri Joseph is the latest batsman to wander to the crease, and he completely fails to pick up his first two deliveries. He gets in behind the third one, pushing it back towards the bowler. Broad finishes his over and acknowledges the Hollies Stand, who are giving him another ovation.

Everyone is stood up and appreciating Stuart Broad, including his dad. What an achievement. He's been such a key factor for England.
