He's just about run out. That was a fraction pre-meditated; he was looking to go, just as Moeen was about to bowl.

Blackwood st Bairstow b Moeen 12 (WI 102-5)

Oh, that's horrible. You could sense something was coming - both Chase and Blackwood went after deliveries from Moeen in that over - but that's just daft. Blackwood comes charging down the pitch, looking to carve Moeen over his head, and he misses a delivery that maybe drifts in a touch. It's so unbelievably, almost embarrassingly easy for Bairstow to collect and whip the bails off. Stuart Law, up on the balcony, looks utterly unimpressed.

They play quite nicely, but only for a short period. Just when you think 'he's playing nicely', then 'whoa, where did that come from?'

  4. WI 99-4published at 30 overs

    Blackwood 11, Chase 21

That's a better delivery from Broad, getting some movement in towards Blackwood, and he gets turned over by it, his bat crossing in front of his pad as the ball thuds into his thigh. Blackwood responds with an airy sort of drive that flies over the fielders and goes away for four, a shot which has Root holding out his hand in exasperation. There was no timing behind that - he was playing away from his body and it was just luck that took it over the fielder's heads. Blackwood deals with a bouncer sensibly, before chucking a lovely drive at a fuller ball and slapping a drive for four.

Moeen continues and he gets a few extra revs on the ball, spearing a fuller delivery in quicker, and Chase jabs his bat down rather awkwardly. That stayed low, and Chase seemed a tad wrongfooted by it. He opts to go on the offensive instead, getting down on one knee and sweeping hard and aerially for a boundary.

    Broad 4-0-22-0

It'll be Stuart Broad to take the second over after tea, with dad Chris watching on from the stands. He drifts a touch wide, straying into the line that he bowled yesterday evening, and Blackwood pushes the ball into th covers and takes on Moeen's arm to nab a quick single. Broad responds by squaring Chase up, and a leading edge goes flying through the gap between slip an gully, past a diving Stokes, and down to the boundary.

Here we go then. The lights are starting to kick in now, with the shirts taking on that luminescent quality. Moeen will finish off his over from before tea.

Cheers, Kal. There's still 38 overs to go in the day. Can West Indies hang in for that long? Somehow, I doubt it...

Phew! So, we have seen 13 West Indies wickets fall in two sessions today. That's me done, Amy Lofthouse will see you through the final session of the day (and perhaps this Test match) ... cheers!

He got a long way across, and Moeen has taken a wicket on the stroke of tea. Brathwaite had played very well up until that point.

Brathwaite lbw Moeen 40 (WI 76-4)

Gone on the stroke of tea! Another succesful review from England and Moeen. Kraigg Braithwaite was a long way across his crease and, trying to work it onto the leg side, got trapped in front. It was going on to clatter into the stumps. West Indies four down as tea is taken.

Moeen to Brathwaite, it's hit him low on the pads. Been given not out. England review. Did he hit it?

  20. WI 76-3published at 26 overs

    Brathwaite 40, Chase 9

A slight delay in play as an American Football ball has appeared on the field. Now, I'm no detective but I have a feeling it might have been those blokes dressed up as NFL players

Stokes hits Chase high on the pad and asks the question. It was never going to be given. Not only was it going down leg, but he's about six foot four and it hit him on the thigh pad.

Chase pushes through to cover for two before Stoke bangs one in short and it's well defended.

Ouch! To end the over, a good length ball springs up on Kraigg Brathwaite and strikes him on an unpadded part of the glove.
