James: Chris Woakes does have a higher first-class average than Mark Stoneman...

Haha. It's still not going to happen. It would be a remarkable career arc if a decent bowler becomes a good one, only to then become an opening bat.

Woakes and Moeen milk Bishoo for a few singles.

West Indies have been ropey since tea. Too many easy runs for England.

Here's the moment Moeen was caught behind off a no ball.

Make your own mind up whether a smidge of the ankle was behind the line in the air as Bishoo landed...

I think the game is swinging towards England now, especially with Moeen being given licence to swing the bat. There's not a lot to come after these two, though.

The fatigued Gabriel continues, Moeen meeting his first ball of the over with a glorious drive to the fence through mid-off.

Another couple follows, a couple of defensive strokes and then yet another no ball from Gabriel is smited by Ali up over the slip cordon for four.

Gabriel then over-pitches and Moeen crashes it through the covers for another boundary.

A dot to finish but a woeful over - 15 from it.

Moeen plunders a run off that eventful over.

Bit of debate whether that was indeed a no ball by Bishoo - when the spike landed, a bit of the raised ankle could perhaps have been judged to be behind the line.

It came down over the line. Tough to say exactly when the first spike came down but I think no ball was a fair shout by the umpire.

It looked good in full speed but it was missing by a long way in the end.

It was indeed spinning too much and going down leg.

Worth a punt for West Indies in this situation but Moeen survives.

Plenty of bit to keep Bishoo interested.

Well now. Bishoo gets one through and strikes Moeen's pads.

Given not out but looked a decent shout in real time. Maybe sliding down.

    West Indies send it upstairs...

That's unforgiveable - a spinner bowling a no-ball. It's a shame for the keeper because it was a brilliant catch.

    Gabriel's no ball-itis is catching.

Bishoo replaces the hapless Brathwaite but manages to over-step - Moeen gets a bottom edge on it and Dowrich takes an excellent catch.

But the no ball is called. Unforgiveable for a spinner.

Have they put something in the tea in the TMS box?

Chris Woakes opening in the Ashes?! It just won't happen, surely.

I'm trying to come up with a reason why Woakes couldn't open the batting, but the only reason I can come up with is that he's batting at number nine here. I can see the thinking, to an extent.

If Mark Stoneman hadn't play so well yesterday, Chris Woakes would have been my left-field punt as Alastair Cook's opening partner in Brisbane. He's a good player with an uncomplicated technique.

Gabriel strains, looking for a yorker but it's a low full toss and Moeen clips it deftly away for four.

An inside edge to deep square leg brings one to finish.

Chris Woakes is a very, very good number nine. He's got nine first-class centuries to his name.

Gabriel lumbers in - he's bowled a fair few no balls to start sessions this Test but doesn't stray this time, although Woakes pushes him through mid-wicket for two.

Shot! The number nine plays a cover drive befitting of a number four, thumping it away to the fence.

Woakes then tucks one of his pads - and there's the no ball. Two to the score and that takes England's lead to 200.

  18. Eng 361-7published at 114 overs

Better from Brathwaite off the rest of the over, but it could hardly have been worse.

Hopefully that's just an end-changer for the tourists. No sense in bowling that filth at this point otherwise.

Shannon Gabriel to bowl from the other end.

Dearie me. A truly abysmal first delivery from Brathwaite - a rank full toss, looped up wide and Moeen duly smacks it away for four through cover.

These are key runs to concede. What is going on?

Er...West Indies are going to open with the part-time off-spin of Kraigg Brathwaite after tea.

    Oooo-kay.

Double off-spin? Or is this just a way of changing ends for Chase?

    Here we go...
