Oh my word. What kind of shot is that at this stage? Why would you do that?

    Bairstow b Chase 18 (Eng 327-7)

    What on earth was that?!

Jonny Bairstow plays a beautiful shot for four off Chase.

Then, amazingly in the game situation, he tries to reverse sweep the spinner and plays the ball onto his middle stump. Crazy.

Just what would the score be if both teams had taken their chances in this match? There have been so many!

Earlier in that over Bairstow used his wrists for a beautiful four to take England's lead over 150, the mark many commentators said England needed before play.

He's got to take that. It's been a match of dropped catches.

  5. dropped catch

Bairstow dropped on 13published at 105.3 overs

Not again. West Indies have dropped another!

It is Kyle Hope again. To be fair this is a much tougher chance at extra cover. Bairstow drives in the air but Hope gets two hands there. He has to take that.

Jason Holder doesn't even get angry at the drops anymore. He just turns and walks back to his mark.

"The off spinner looks the threat" says Michael Vaughan.

He's taken the two wickets since drinks. The most recent of those saw Dawid Malan's five-hour innings end.

  7. Eng 317-6published at 105 overs

    Bairstow 9, Moeen 1

There's an appeal from Chase and his wicketkeeper as the off spinner comes in to Moeen. That wasn't spinning enough though and the ball was going past leg stump.

Moeen gets his first run on the board with a push and quick jog in the direction of the pavilion.

Wow. Batting looks difficult again. Bairstow leaves one from Holder that swings back a mile and then keeps on going after passing over off stump. Dowrich would have expected to take that in a standard position but in the end was diving in vain down the leg side.

Four more byes to the total.

The West Indies need to raise the energy levels and seize the moment. Win this next half hour and they're going to be chasing 180.

England were cruising half an hour ago. Now the game is in the balance.

That was a scrappy knock from Malan and he will be frustrated to make 60-odd again but England are in a considerably better position than they would have been without that knock.

Moeen Ali is the new man.

It's a decent cherry, but nothing more. The West Indies are right back in this match now.

    Malan b Chase 61 (Eng 312-6)

West Indies back in the game?

Moments after a snorter from Chase that spins and catches the shoulder of Malan's bat, the left-hander has his off stump knocked back.

Malan was lingering on the back foot and there was a little bit of turn but not too much.

Beautiful from Jonny Bairstow. It was over-pitched from Holder but punished.

And now Holder gets leg side and Bairstow clips the ball to the fence through the leg side!

This is what England's lower middle order can do to you. The crowd love it from the Yorkshireman.

And here is the wicket of Stokes.

I wholeheartedly apologise to you for the live texter's curse, Ben.

Neither the crowd or Ben Stokes himself quite know what to make of that. There is silence before a delayed applause as Stokes walks off with a wry smile.

It was a really wide delivery but Stokes neither went all out for the six or chipped it over the infield. The ball went quite high and was grasped a few yards inside the rope.

Jonny Bairstow is the new batsman and gets off the mark early on but there is a bit of encouragement for the spinner as one ball scuttles low before the next spins and bounces.

That is a bizarre dismissal. I'm trying to think where Stokes was trying to hit that. He looked like he was trying to chip it over extra cover but he timed it so well it travelled straight to the fielder on the boundary.
