Jake Shoolheifer‏: I'm sure Liam Livingstone's timely century won't be making Tom Westley feel much better right now.

    Minimum 58 overs remaining

Woakes gets one to hit a crack and rise off a length - Shai Hope plays it well, keeping his hands high to hit it downwards off the gloves.

A lovely clip through mid-wicket for a couple follows. Two dots to finish.

With each one of these boundaries the pressure will start to mount on England.

  4. WI 124-2published at 37.1 overs

    Need 198 runs to win

Woakes still desperately trying to get the ball to swing but, frankly, that is garbage.

Over-pitched, on the legs and just scraping 80mph - Shai Hope easily flicks it fine for four.

When Moeen doesn't get an early wicket he gets a bit flat in his follow through. There is not a great deal of energy after the ball.

He is bowling good areas but the lack of follow through shows that he is not getting much action on the ball.

  6. WI 120-2published at 37 overs

    Brathwaite 58, Hope 36

Hope swings a single to long on. Good strike rotation from these two.

Brathwaite unfurls a drive but Cook does well with a diving stop, fielding in the uncustomary position of extra cover.

What say a few overs of a 'random bowler' to keep Windies guessing as to who and what, let's face it, pies they might receive and get out to. Cook, Westley or Malan anyone? Sometimes pays dividends...

  8. WI 119-2published at 36 overs

    Minimum 60 overs remaining

Woakes goes too full and straight to the in-form Brathwaite, who flicks it away through square leg to the fence.

Better from Woakes as one jags back and Brathwaite inside edges onto his pads.

Still think the all-rounder needs to be removed from the attack. His pace is down in the low 80s too.

The approach of West Indies is clear. They are not thinking only of survival but playing their natural game.

Brathwaite is in fact playing a more expansive game than we are used to at the moment.

They are trying to win the game not save it.

  10. WI 115-2published at 35 overs

    Need 207 runs to win

Just a single through square leg to finish the over.

  11. WI 114-2published at 34.3 overs

Kyle Hope's dismissal is one of the rarest in cricket but we almost had an even rarer one there.

Moeen Ali is into the attack and has James Anderson standing pretty much next to the non-striker.

Brathwaite hits an on drive and Anderson flicks it brilliantly onto the stumps - Shai Hope doesn't follow his brother though as he's back in his crease.

I wonder how many runs will have to be scored without a loss of wicket before the knives are out for Root and his declaration? No pleasing some.

Root now decides to take a slip out and put another man in the covers.

Woakes unconvincing and leaking runs - admittedly mainly due to great batting, not completely dross bowling. Just a couple of singles off the rest of the over.

Maybe time to throw someone else the ball all the same.

This is interesting. Runs are now coming at a pace.

It was a lovely off drive.

A lot of captains will be thinking they have to take a catcher out and squeeze a bit but Root is keeping them all in.

  15. WI 112-2published at 33.2 overs

Touch. Shai Hope has bags of it as he just leans on a Woakes delivery, beats Broad's dive at mid-off and records yet another boundary.

    Runs flowing since lunch.

West Indies still not favourites for victory but they're winning all the battles right now.

Not least thanks to Kraigg Brathwaite.

Here's the moment the opener reached his fifty...

  17. WI 106-2published at 33 overs

    Brathwaite 52, S Hope 28

England go to a 7-2 field as Hope slides it away for a single.

The hosts can still attack for now but how long before they start having to think about saving runs?

Brathwaite plays calmly back to Anderson to finish.

  18. WI 105-2published at 32.4 overs

Another four for Shai Hope off Anderson - here's one he hit earlier...

50 partnership up for this pair, too.

  19. WI 101-2published at 32.2 overs

Anderson now strays too short and Hope is onto it - slashing away up and beyond point for four.

100 up for West Indies. They'll be delighted to have got there for the loss of just two wickets.
