Very mature words from Shai Hope.

He has just played one of the best innings in recent times for his country.

I'll say it again. He averaged just 18 before this match.

He's now the only player to score a century in each innings of a first-class match at Headingley.

Shai Hope on TMS: "I’ve just been told I was the first man to score a century in both first-class innings at Headingley. I’m just pleased to get the win. We were fine batting for a long period of time, we knew we had to get the win, even if the lights blew out.

"We’re Test cricketers for a reason, we have the fight, belief and players to do it. I hope people back home will be happy – this is a stepping stone, I need to continue in this vein and get more runs under my belt.

Asked about his brother Kyle's dismissal, he said: "Everything happens for a reason, a good reason today I guess!"

We all thought they'd lose a few wickets at tea-time and then panic. I don't think I've seen a run-chase taken down so coolly.

And here is the moment West Indies sealed this famous victory.

Just look at the scenes on the West Indies balcony and in the crowd.

Jason Holder took a lot of flack last week, no wonder he is delighted.

Kraigg Brathwaite tells TMS that the criticism they received last week was motivation this week.

    All credit to them.

That is the fourth-highest total ever scored on the final day to win.

From a Test cricket point of view, this is a heartwarming victory. I'm glad this has happened, as much as it's pained me to say it.

West Indies lost 19 wickets in a day a week ago.

Today they have completed the third-highest successful run chase in England.

It gives them their first win in England in 17 years.

    Just extraordinary.

When Shai Hope was nine years old he was interviewed on Barbados TV and asked what his dream was. He said he wanted to play for West Indies. Dreams do come true.

Shai Hope gets a hug from every member of the West Indian team as he strides off. He ends 118 not out. Amazing.

These are brilliant scenes. England look disconsolate but that was one of the greatest final days I have ever seen.

Blackwood goes for glory and fails miserably.

He charges down the pitch, swings and misses and it looks a horrible way to go.

A fine knock but he looks furious not to be the one to hit the winning runs.
