  1. WI 313-4published at 89.2 overs

    Need 9 to win

Joe Root looks stunned in the field. Questions will come his way after this.

Chris Woakes returns to the attack. A wide takes the runs needed into single figures...

If Shai Hope has a better match than this in the next 16 or 17 years, it'll be a remarkable game. This is the match of Shai Hope's life.

  3. WI 312-4published at 89 overs

Need 10 to win from seven overs

Just the single from Moeen's latest over. 10 to win now. They're closing on history.

This is one of the most remarkable transformations in the history of Test cricket.

He's gone to whip it. You can't say that's a no stroke! That's a remarkable decision.

  6. WI 310-4published at 88 overs

    Need 12 to win

England get away with one as Broad bowls a swinging delivery that Blackwood tries to get his toes out the way of.

It glances off his and runs down to fine leg for four leg-byes but the umpire calls dead ball.

Six!! Remarkable from Blackwood. The same shot as earlier in the over that earned him four and it just clears Moeen at third man. Broad is not happy because Moeen was a few yards inside the rope. Had he been right back, he could have caught it.

  7. WI 302-4published at 87.2 overs

    Need 20 runs to win

The England fielders are spread far and wide now. Will Blackwood still look to find the rope with six men on the fence?

Yes. Yes he will but that's clever. A shot from the limited overs handbook.

Blackwood steps to leg and guides through the vacant gully region for four. Brilliant. The 300 is up.

I believe there was a message from the West Indies dressing room to Jermaine Blackwood. It was to stop slogging! He took notice for a couple of overs and then seemed to forget.

There is still a twist in this tale, I know it.

  10. WI 298-4published at 87 overs

Need 24 to win from 9 overs

Still Moeen spins away with little success.

There's four more to the total. This one spins but spins down the leg side and Bairstow doesn't have much of a chance.

I can't believe how easily they're getting this done.

The umpires have got to be brave and ensure commonsense comes into it - keep the players out there. I don't care if they're glowing under the floodlights at the end. Do it for the good of the game. For the good of Test cricket.

  12. WI 292-4published at 86 overs

Need 30 runs to win from 10 overs

The crowd still believe something remarkable could happen as they cheer Broad in to the crease.

He bowls Hope a vicious bouncer that ends with the batsman on his backside after he ducks under the ball. The umpires won't like that with the gloom around Headingley but the last man who will want to go off is Hope.

The West Indians steal a single on the final ball. They look so calm.

Albert Freeman: I hope Root remains bold and doesn't revert to the over cautious captaincy of Strauss and Cook after this.

Oliver Radini: Couldn't agree more with Boycott. Push for the win, easy to forgive Root's ambition if it ends in a loss.

Chris Bevan: Have to wonder if England had got another 50 runs in the first innings...

James Taylor said to me that it can be harder to win a Test if the target is unobtainable because batsmen go into their shell and are defensive. They don't take as many risks.

I don't think anybody can complain about declarations. It's been a splendid days' cricket, especially for West Indies cricket.

  16. WI 289-4published at 85 overs

Need 33 to win from 11 overs

Still Moeen struggles to make the impact expected of him in this game.

England have very little chance now. It might not have made a difference but Alastair Cook still won't be feeling too good right now...

  17. Not outpublished at 84.3 overs

England think they have Hope out stumped off Moeen.

The umpires are going to take it upstairs for the third umpire...

He survives. The foot was close to creeping forward too far but didn't cross the line.

Shai Hope averaged just 18 before this Test.

He has now hit two centuries and looks like he'll guide West Indies to one of their most famous victories this century.

  19. WI 287-4published at 84 overs

Need 35 to win 12 overs remaining

Cook has now dropped Shai Hope and Kraigg Brathwaite in this innings, West Indies' two highest scorers.

Hope swiped hard at the ball outside off stump but it went to the former skipper chest-high and it hit his hands and fell to the turf.

  20. dropped catch

Cook drops Hopepublished at 83.3 overs

And that I fear is the game.

Cook drops his second catch of the innings. Again it is straight at him at slip and again is off Stuart Broad who is absolutely furious.
