Shai Hope is making a bid to join my Favourite Cricketers' XI (McCullum, Vettori, Misbah, Atherton). He greets Broad with a square drive that scorches the turf. On the boundary edge, Windies coach Stuart Law plays with a white ball. He's about a week too early. One, maybe two overs left in the day.

Every delivery as a fast bowler you put nine times your body weight through your hip, knee and ankle. His longevity is remarkable. If he plays for another four years he will get another 130-150 wickets and will be second to Warne and Murali. Once he goes past McGrath he is 100% the best fast bowler ever and he deserves that.

He looks after his body well and has a great appetite for the game. We are talking about James Anderson, a world great. He is up there with McGrath, Ambrose, Walsh...

James Anderson is being taken out of the attack for his own good, but he's still in discussions with Marais Erasmus. If he's not careful, Anderson will be celebrating his 500th Test wicket in the match referee's office. Stuart Broad is on.

We talk about the light, but Shai Hope is still playing cover drives that you want to take home to meet your mother. Full face of the bat, through extra cover for four. Joe Root shines the ball and wears the look of a slightly worried man. There even seemed to be some pretty abrupt instructions dished out to someone. Bowler Ben Stokes is red in the face to. England need a cold towel on the forehead.

England have had a couple of tired reviews. They could be crucial.

That's a pretty poor review from England, probably coming from the emotion pouring out of James Anderson. He was angry to get that second warning for running on the pitch (any more and he'll be taken out of the attack), then pleaded for the lbw decision. Erasmus is still interested in Jimmy's follow-through...

He has been trapped on the crease but I reckon that's done too much going down the hill.

England have another look, this time when James Anderson rattles Roston Chase. Anderson was already ticking - he'd just got a second warning from umpires Erasmus. Again, this looks leggy...

Anderson is a great of the game, you are talking about potentially England's finest ever bowler. His skill levels are second to none. I was still playing when he made his debut in 2003. He looked a good player but I never thought he'd get 500 wickets.

He is a shy lad by nature, a fierce competitor and he is getting better and better. He thinks he can play until 40. He will still be able to bowl over 80mph and with his skill levels he can cause problems for a few years yet. He loves learning. He has great control, can swing the ball both ways with subtle differences and he is so accurate he always asks questions of the batsman.

When he saw the replay on the big screen, Ben Stokes made a face of utter disbelief, as if he's just been told that Trevor Bayliss is actually the new James Bond. There are supposedly 13 overs left in the day, but England won't get those in. They'll scurry around to make sure they make the most of these final 18 minutes or so.

It was missing by a coat of varnish - but it was still missing. But worth a review from England.

It was too high, Tuffers, and sliding down the leg side. Not a lot going for it actually.

    It certainly won't be high.

Now then. I can't remember England reviewing anything in this Test, but Ben Stokes has persuaded Joe Root to have another look at this lbw shout against Shai Hope. Looks leggy...

It's not all going James Anderson's way. He's just got a warning for running on the pitch. He's not happy about it either, having a good chinwag with umpire Marais Erasmus. Erasmus folds his arms and shakes his head in the direction of the Burnley Express. Quit while you're ahead, Jimmy. Erasmus might look like he could be a department store Santa, but I think he'd do you in a cage fight.

That has just swung the momentum. If West Indies had been two down overnight, I would have made them favourites. Now England will be thinking they could have four or five. That cloud that was hanging over the ground is departing, but the light isn't improving too much. I think sunset is at 19:30, so it will be pretty dark by the close. Careful, Ben Stokes. An exchange of words with Roston Chase. One more demerit point equals a ban. Then again, it might be a good idea to get that suspension out of the way before the Ashes.

Looking again, it's just about the perfect delivery to a left-hander. I reckon it's pitched on middle stump and taken the top of off. Any higher and it wouldn't have taken the top of the off bail. Roston Chase is the new man. Kieran Powell has dragged himself off, probably to have a nightmare about facing Jimmy Anderson.
