I missed Jimmy's 500th wicket because I was talking to my gran in the living room while my phone was in the kitchen.

I missed Jimmy's 500th because I went to pick up a friend from the station, to which he forgot to get off... sorry doesn't cut it!

Kevin, I'm a huge fan of CDWM (except when they do champion of champions), but why were you watching that instead of following the cricket? Stokes is generating good heat, but the only straight ball he sends down is driven straight of mid-off by Powell for four.

A bit of an anti-climax. Outside off stump, forced into the off side by Kieran Powell.

I've barely missed a ball these last two days. But I missed Jimmy's 500th wicket thanks to an anomaly in a conjoint module matrix. Everybody stay calm. Anomaly now resolved.

It will be Stokes, so the hat-trick ball is coming up. Stuart Broad is heading off the field. Here's the wicket he took.

Simon Emmett: I missed Jimmy's 500th because I have literally just had my hip replaced - poor excuse I know.

Stuart Foster: I missed Jimmy's 500th because I'm on the west coast of #Mull and no signal! But there lots of eagles and otters.

Andy Limb: I was cycling home through a thunder storm.

Sure enough, Ben Stokes is getting loose. Roland-Jones gets one to scuttle through. If that had been on the stumps, Shai Hope would have been in trouble. There are plenty of empty seats around the ground, but Lord's still produces an impressive hum. Friday at the Test. Long weekend. Probably have a curry tonight.

Adam Smithy: I was dicing a carrot.

Dan Spiller: Thanks Steve in Horsham, I missed Broad's 387th watching a video on how to open a bottle with a shoe. Impressive.

The floodlights beam down on HQ. When I was a kid, I loved my Subbuteo set. My favourite accessory was the floodlights. I'd turn all the lights off and just have the pitch illuminated by the little battery-powered lights. I didn't have many friends. Either way, that's what Lord's reminds me of now. Broad again, but not as threatening as before. That might be his lot. Remember, Ben Stokes will be on a hat-trick when he comes on.

I missed Jimmy's 500th wicket because I left the TV to hear what my wife was shouting from upstairs. It was 'Has Jimmy taken his 500th wicket?'

Toby Roland-Jones replaces James Anderson, the floodlights casting a shadow on all sides of the tall Middlesex seamer. TRJ is coming down the hill, angling it into the right-handed Hope and away from the left-handed Powell. Both need to beware the one that nips up the hill. It seems to be getting darker by the second. They;ll need miner's lamps later on.

Conditions are very similar to last night, the clouds are coming in and England could make some serious in-roads tonight.

Good lord, it's dark out there now. You wouldn't want to be batting. Good luck, Shai Hope. Maybe you should hope for the best. Looking again at the wicket of Kyle Hope, Broad got the ball full, nipping it up the slope. England could go a long way towards winning this match tonight.

There have been times when Broad has struggled for rhythm but this has been tremendous. You just felt it was a matter of time but he has not had any luck. It wasn't a great shot from Kyle Hope, playing on the move.

    K Hope lbw Broad 1 (WI 21-2)

It just looked out as soon as Stuart Broad got it past the inside edge and into the pads of the right-hander. Broad barely turned around to appeal. Kyle Hope has had a poor series and perhaps erm, hoped, that he could find a miraculous reprieve. Not a bit of it. Angling back in and would have hit the top of middle stump. It could be the first of something special from Broad.

In case you didn't know, we can play as late as 19:30 this evening. Sleeping bags at the ready. Having said that, you can't help but think that the light will intervene. It's just got darker once more. Anderson, unusually, strays, and gets clipped by Powell, with normal service then resumed by a hissing outswinger.
