It just proves the joy that he has brought to so many lives - the voice, the humour. When I was playing, he was always a name and a voice that we spoke about in the dressing room.

It's pouring with rain at Lord's now but England have completed a comprehensive nine-wicket win and a 2-1 series victory. Jimmy should be around for some time to come and he was outstanding again today, here is the key scalp of Shai Hope, giving him a five-wicket haul, which left the Windies in trouble at 155-7.

England coach Trevor Bayliss on Ben Stokes, who took 6-22 in the first innings: "Hopefully he can do it a little bit more consistently, and one day take over from Jimmy."

This summer has been exciting for Test cricket and good to cover because there has been some action with the ball. When batsmen have got runs, you've noticed them because it's been tough.

The teams are very evenly matched, but I think England have the edge. They have the advantage in the all-rounder department. The wicket-keeper batsman is a better player, and they have the best all-rounder in the world.

When we won in 2010-11, their pace attack was as good as the attack Australia have now. The difference was we had people in supreme nick. It's not that difficult a place to play if you believe in yourself.

One area Australia will have an advantage over England is Nathan Lyon over Moeen Ali. Moeen doesn't believe in himself, whereas Lyon does. I'd love to be a psychologist and sit down with Moeen over the next few weeks and convince him how good he can be.

Sebastian Hart: Lots of negativity about how we are worse than Australia, but aren't the Windies better than Bangladesh........?

Small Man Peaky: England should win at least one Test. Australia's batting is just as poor as ours. I doubt we'll see a single 5 day Test.

The batting still needs a look at. Being there at the end will do Westley and Stoneman's confidence the world of good.

Stoneman goes to Australia; he's shown there's something there. Whether that 40-odd is enough for Westley, we'll see. I think Malan has done enough. England would possibly look back to Gary Ballance.

England coach Trevor Bayliss on the Ashes squad: "There are two or three positions that will take more time than the others. I can't see us going outside the people we have played in the last 12-18 months.

"The guys that have come in in the last series or two have been in tough conditions. They have had to do some hard yards. They would have liked to have scored a few more runs, but they've shown something also."

England captain Joe Root: "It's important we enjoy this, enjoy tonight and enjoy what a summer it's been. It's a great opportunity for this group of players to do something special down there."

On his first summer as Test captain: "I've loved it. There have been some blips but when you come back from that as well as we have it makes your team stronger and I think that's what you need ahead of this winter."

This series has surprised us. None of us gave West Indies any chance after Edgbaston. Full credit to them and we're going to see Shai Hope for many, many years. It's been a good series to watch, even though it's finished quickly.

This win was so important for this England side. They had to win this Test; they had to win this series. When you look at Joe Root's captaincy, he's done a decent job going into the Ashes.

England skipper Joe Root: "The guys set the tone this morning and continued throughout the whole day. Jimmy's performance speaks for itself, to be able to hold a length and put guys under pressure is a great skill. He's a massive part of our dressing room and I'm sure he will be for a long time to come."
