He brought Bishoo on too late! Alastair Cook has played down the wrong line - that is absolutely salmon and trout. It is the most out lbw I have ever seen.

    Cook lbw b Bishoo 17 (Eng 35-1)

Well Cook was looking good, but the first ball from spinner Bishoo bamboozles him and his bat is nowhere near it. They think of a review but decide against and it was for the best, it was ticking all three boxes.

From our vantage point in the media centre, we can see all over the whole of west London. I can see some rain falling over there.

    Target 107

Gabriel plugs away again, he's up at 90mph with the last ball but Cook is looking positive and he keeps the bowling with a quick single into the cover region.

There is a whacking swathe of dark cloud over the Mound Stand but still sunshine on the field as Holder continues, Cook driving him for three through mid-on.

Much as it's great to be winning, I can't help but feel slightly robbed of the final two days of Blowers' last stand. Can you not just leave him on to have a chat for the final two days?

    Target 107

Cook calls for a quick single and Stoneman would have been short of his ground there if Blackwood's throw from backward point had hit the target. It very nearly hit the fielder about five yards away from the throwing arm, which would have resulted in quite a delay.

When you've got a small target, you tend to find there are either a couple of early wickets, the pressure builds and team creeps towards the target - or a team starts quickly and runs away with it. It looks like the latter.

  10. Eng 27-0published at 14:53 British Summer Time 9 September 2017

    Cook 10, Stoneman 12

Only 84 needed to win so captain Holder brings himself into the attack from Pavilion End. Not much sight of a maiden in this innings yet and the England openers continue to purposefully rotate the strike.

  11. Eng 23-0published at 14:48 British Summer Time 9 September 2017

    Target 107

Gabriel is wide of off stump and Cook latches on to it. Through the covers it goes, racing across the manicured turf. Three boundaries in as many overs for the England openers.

James Anderson finished the series as the leading wicket-taker with 19 at an average of 14.1. He took 20 wickets at 14.1 against South Africa earlier this summer.

His 39 wickets in the English season are the joint second highest by an England bowler at home, level with SF Barnes and Bedser, and behind only Jim Laker's 46 in 1956.

Roach was the pick of the bowlers in the first innings with 5-72 but his opening delivery sees a beautifully controlled cover drive from Stoneman to the boundary.

  14. Eng 12-0published at 14:39 British Summer Time 9 September 2017

    Target 107

Big Gabriel chugs in and the first ball is way down the legside for four byes. The next one is much better and Cook gets an edge short of slip, though it is given as byes. Stoneman away with a lovely on-drive to the boundary and the left-hander flicks off his hip for three more. Are England going to do it before tea at 16:10 BST?

Lesley Garrett was in good form on TMS, one of the few people to prevent Geoffrey Boycott from getting a word in. Well the sun is still out as the players emerge, but there are a few dark clouds building up over the Mound Stand, the mixture of blue and grey resembles Constable's Hay Wain. Hey, that's not bad for me, culture-wise, 107 to win then.

He's a fine bowler and he has been the difference between West Indies getting another 40 or 50 runs. The chase should be OK for England, even if they lose a couple of wickets.

That last one just nipped in to beat Roach's inside edge and peg back the middle pole. Anderson has been outstanding again. He took 2-12 from seven overs this morning to ensure the Windies didn't get away to a fast start and he has finished with 7-42 from 20.1 overs.

What a match Anderson has had. 500th wicket and a career-best. You can't do any better than that.
