  1. Eng 24-1published at 2 overs

    Target 177

We're back under way and that's brilliant from Hales. It may be T20 but there is time for textbook strokes. Off the back foot he punches the ball for four through the covers.

Now this is the total opposite. Like a tennis shot he flat-bat scoops the ball down the ground and past mid on. Sixteen off the over - all of them to Hales.

This stoppage gives us chance to take another look at the wicket to fall.

It was not the start England were after as Jason Roy fell first ball but it was an impressive catch from Lewis in difficult conditions for fielding...

    Oooh, that was horrible.

It was the knee and the groin because he almost did the half splits. It was awful to see and it looked painful. The physio doesn't seem to happy.

It was almost like a goalkeeper who goes the wrong way. There's a grimace on the face Chadwick Walton. That's always the danger on a skiddy surface.

  5. ouch!

    Eng 16-1published at 1.4 overs

Kesrick Williams is not as quick as his opening partner Taylor and that is what is helping Hales. He has time to give himself room and swing away.

Wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton could be in bother here. He's twisted either knee or ankle trying to stop the ball.

    On comes the physio...

  6. Eng 16-1published at 1.3 overs

    Hales 13, Root 3

In comes Kesrick Williams and it's back-to-back boundaries for Alex Hales. The first, Williams bowls short and wide and Hales takes a few steps down the crease and swats through mid-wicket for four.

The second, the England opener makes some room and strikes it through the covers. Lovely stuff.

Powell totally misjudged it, it clipped him on the thumb. At this level, that is a basic catch to drop.

  8. Eng 8-1published at 1 over

    Hales 5, Root 3

That's a better shot from Hales. He ends an eventful first over with a back foot push for three down the ground.

    Breathe.

  9. dropped catch

Hales dropped on 0published at 0.4 overs

    "Catch!"

It's all happening. Three to Root brings Alex Hales on strike and he clips his first ball powerfully off his toes. It goes in the air to the right of Rovam Powell at square leg and he gets two hands to the ball but hits his wrists and then the turf.

    A tough chance.

Worst possible start for Jason Roy and England. A length delivery which was swinging away and he just flashed it. It absolutely flew, it's a good catch but a big loss for England. You can already see the ball skidding off. An excellent catch.

Huge appeal for lbw against Root first ball. Not out says the umpire. Just sliding down leg, I reckon. Brilliant start from Taylor.

    Roy c Lewis b Taylor 0 (Eng 0-1)

    Roy gone first ball!

It's a brilliant catch from Evin Lewis, diving to his right at backward point. Jason Roy chased a wide ball. It was there to hit but he couldn't control it.

  13. Eng 0-0published at 0 overs

As ever in T20s it's Jason Roy and Alex Hales opening the batting for England.

The West Indians have their hands in pockets.

West Indies are in a group huddle. Either to find some warmth or to discuss tactics. Alex Hales and Jason Roy make their way to the middle. Here's Matthew Henry to talk you through the first 10.

What else has happened in this match? Well, here is the best and worst of Chris Gayle. Oh how we love him.

Plunkett was well supported by Adil Rashid, who actually finished with even better figures of 4-0-25-3 - albeit West Indies did give some of those wickets away.

England bowler Liam Plunkett who took 3-27, speaking to Sky Sports: "They got off to flier. They have two good players up front but we stuck to our guns. The run out helped and we squeezed them in the middle but 176 still decent score.

"Hopefully it might skid on a bit.

"It will be a good chase. Hopefully we can knock it off."

West Indies have done well. They had an electric start from Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis, and were well shepherded at the end. It could have been so much better but that's a competitive total.

  20. WI 176-9published at 20 overs

    England need 177 to win

Eoin Morgan is ferociously wiping the ball with the towel, he chucks it to Jordan who races in ... a great ball to end the over, right in the block and it's dug out for a single.

A decent enough score? But England will be the much happier team after the start West Indies had.
