    Adam Collins
    Test Match Special commentator

Travis Head is a born accumulator. Maxwell is more likely to play the way he always does, which has a degree of risk associated with it. Head could knock off the runs himself but he's more likely to play himself in.

Play needs to start at 18:48 BST for us to fit a 20 over match in. If we do start then - and, er, it looks unlikely - Australia will need 174.

  4. Postpublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

Then Aaron Finch, who never looked comfortable, fell. He scored a cracking 137 against Sri Lanka during the warm-ups for the Champions Trophy, but his timing here was off. He ended up providing catching practice for Ross Taylor.

Shall we have a look at the wickets that have fallen?

First was David Warner - he's never made a century in any form of cricket in England, and that's something he'll be targeting during this Champions Trophy. It wasn't to be today, though...

  6. It's rainingpublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

The hover cover is on and the big covers are being brought out. It's very dark out there.

    Jeremy Coney
Ex-New Zealand captain on Test Match Special

The man I said would be so easy for the Australians to play is the one taking the wickets.

  8. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

    Aus 53-3

And with that, we're off for more rain! We need 20 overs for a game...

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9 overs

    Henriques c&b Milne 18 (Aus 53-3)

Out! Moises Henriques uncomfortable innings has ended! He never looked settled out there, edging one ball and pulling the next, and he's inside edged Milne onto his pad. The ball, which may have just skidded on a bit, has spooned up and Milne darted forward to snaffle the catch.

  11. Aus 45-2published at 8 overs

    Smith 8, Henriques 10

There's just something inherently elegant about a left-arm fast bowler, as Boult wheels in to Henriques. That's a big top edge, it could go anywhere - but it's flown over the keeper's head and away for four! Boult turns away in disgust and responds with a peach that beats the outside edge. That's much better from the batsman, a pull that hits the meat of the bat and fizzes away to the boundary. Cracking little battle, this.

    Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

Everything's happening - it's overcast, the dark clouds are hovering and hopefully the forecasted monsoon leaves us alone.

  13. Aus 36-2published at 7 overs

    Target 235

Moises Henriques is in at number four and he's beaten straight up by right-armer Milne. He's off the mark with a guided single into the covers. I think the rain has arrived too, which is terrible timing, both in terms of the match (exciting cricket) and for me (I've run out of rain delay snacks).

  14. Watch: Smith hits a boundarypublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

Coolness personified. Cover drive as smooth as you like for a boundary.

  15. Watch: Warner outpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

David Warner, after making a few good shots, edges to Ronchi keeping wicket.

  16. Postpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

    Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

Finch just couldn't get going today, looking to hit the ball hard all the time. It really wasn't a great knock for his team. Australia are in a bit of strife.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.3 overs

    Finch c Taylor b Milne 8 (Aus 35-2)

Adam Milne is brought on, and he strikes with his third ball! Finch never looked comfortable and he's just offered a simple chip up to Ross Taylor at mid-wicket. Taylor was never dropping that, and Finch heads back to the dressing room. His 8 came off 18 balls...

Adam Wheeler: Finch is swinging his bat hard. Better be careful though. He might do his back some mischief.

Ranger: Monsoon heading up the A456 folks.

  19. Aus 35-1published at 6 overs

Here's Steve Smith - and he has a huge hoick to his first ball! He wasn't entirely in control of that and it only just missed taking the edge. That is beautiful from Smith though, leaning back slightly and cover driving to the boundary. Lovely. Smith has another big heave, misses before slicing the last ball of the over away for four. It's all happening!

  20. Watch: Warner hits a sixpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

Obviously, this was before he nicked one behind to Ronchi, but still good to watch.
