I don't think England will regard the match against Australia on Saturday as a dead rubber. New Zealand's game against Bangaldesh is important for them. They have to win that. They've been outplayed today.

England have had two very good victories. They played the superior cricket today. They had to handle the cooler part of the day, some very strong wind which they were probably unaccustomed to, they lost the toss but they always looked in control of the game.

I think, with Williamson's dismissal, that sort of thing passes through a team like wildfire. You have to hold it in and not show anything, especially when you're a key position as captain. He could be extremely frustrated but you can't show that to your playes.

More from Williamson: "It was certainly a tough surface to start on. It was credit to the way the England side bowled, they used the dimensions of the ground very well. The pitch played its part as well.

On his dismissal: "That's the game, isn't it? it was a little bit two-paced, a bit up and down and you had to watch the ball hard, I probably didn't watch it hard enough on that occasion.

On qualifying for the semi-finals: "It is what it is. At this point in time the team that's played the best cricket is the top of the table, and that's England, and that's fair. We just have to hope these boys help us out a little bit [against Australia]."

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson: "I think the nature of the English batting line-up is they bat deep, with a lot of power. To be able to restrict them was not a bad effort but I thought they got to an above par score.

"I think in all areas England outplayed us today. It was very tough out there but credit to the way they went about their business.

"We were trying to get the patnership, get momentum. We were trying to increase the run rate to make the last 10, 15 overs a good opportunity to chase down the total."

More from Eoin Morgan: "We tried to learn from our batting. New Zealand bowled well and used the dimensions of the ground. All our batsmen thought it was two-paced, so we thought there was no value in bowling full.

"The new-ball bowlers set the tone.

"Being in the semis is pretty good. We're not satisfied with that, we have a long way to go before we perform to our potential."

England captain Eoin Morgan: "We batted OK. We weren't that pleased at halfway, maybe 20 or 30 short of par. The guys did the right things, but it doesn't always work. But, when you post over 300 you're always in with a shout.

"I thought we would have got more. We gave ourselves every chance to post quite a big score, but it didn't come off today."

Man of the match Jake Ball who took 2-31: "It was about trying to put it in the right area and hopefully something would happen. It was quite blustery out there but everybody did their fair share into it today.

"The rain juiced up the wicket a little bit, maybe a bit of uneven bounce. We thought they were going to come hard."

On coming back from the Bangladesh match: "I think that's one-day cricket, you have to be prepared to go around the park every now and again. You cherish the days where it comes out nice."

Jake Ball is the man of the match for his 2-31. Liam Plunkett pitched in with four, but Ball's were crucial breakthroughs at the top of the order.

While Williamson was there, England were under severe threat. his wicket changed the whole feeling of the match. I wonder if there was something in the Kiwis' minds about the pitch. England exploited what they discovered in the pitch excellently.

It seems a long, long time ago that New Zealand were walloping England in the World Cup in Wellington, doesn't it?

This has been one of England's most polished performance in the field that I can recall. They've found something in the pitch that the Kiwis didn't discover. The seamers have been really disciplined. They've caught everything coming their way, with the exception of that caught and bowled. They set the tone at the start, weathered the storm in the middle and got the key wicket of Williamson.
