This is a huge moment for this game. Massive.

  3. Umpire reviewpublished at 39.6 overs

    SA 156-6

Simply have to review it. It's a wonderful yorker from Mohammad Amir, like Wasim in his prime. David Miller takes it on the toe, ending flat on his face. Finger up, but the situation demands a review...

Chris Morris needs to play his natural game here.

It's so important to pick Shadab's variations nice and early, if you can't pick it from his hand on the release then look at the revs.

  5. SA 153-6published at 39 overs

    Miller 47, Morris 19

Only a one-over spell from Imad - Shadab has swapped ends. Chris Morris greets the returning 18-year-old with a slog sweep for four. Batting looks so much easier now a pair have spent 10 oevrs at the crease. Miller, meanwhile, is on the verge of a half-century.

Pakistan have been quite outstanding. Sarfraz utilised his bowlers, played with them nicely. It helps this new captain to this Pakistan team when you have options up your sleeve.

  7. SA 143-6published at 38 overs

    Partnership 27

This is what I wanted to see, a bit of Mohammad Amir, Pakistan's premier fast bowler. Full length, but you feel like Amir needs some swing to be properly potent - there isn't any. This pair may have just taken the sting out of the situation. If they stick around for another six or seven overs, it could be go time.

South Africa have de Kock and Amla in the top 10, AB is one of the best of all time, du Plessis, Morris, Duminy, Who would have thought they would be going at under four an over? Extraordinary.

  9. SA 140-6published at 37 overs

    Run-rate 3.78

Much is made of Imad Wasim's curtains haircut, but you really haven't seen anything like that since a young Gary Neville was at right-back for Manchester United. Imad is from Swansea - it's got me thinking of Goldie Lookin' Chain. Good over, fired down a tube, not much turn. Runs don't kill batsmen, wickets do...

If I were Sarfraz, you've got to attack and get Morris and Miller, then you're into South Africa's proper bowlers. Always look for that positive option.

  11. SA 138-6published at 36 overs

Interesting move. Hasan Ali off, but not replaced by pace. Back comes the left-arm spin of Imad Wasim. Well bowled, Hasan Ali...

South Africa can't even take advantage of the bad balls at the moment. Miller pulls a pie of a Shadab long hop straight to the man on the leg-side fence. The crowd has quietened just a little. South Africa are milking the singles. Are Pakistan happy with this, or do they want to bowl the Proteas out? Stick or twist?

How good is this? It's a transformed Pakistan side. The two changes have made a big difference to the rest of the team.

The intensity, the dynamism in the field, the skill level has increased.

  15. SA 133-6published at 35 overs

    Miller 40, Morris 6

I'd say that this spell from Hasan Ali is my favourite moment of the tournament so far. He is absolutely roaring in, like a man who may never bowl again. David Miller is starting to look like he's got to grips with the challenge, nicely playing through the covers to the off-side sweeper. I wonder if that might be Hasan done for a little while. He's bowled seven on the bounce.

Tone: Pakistan all over SA like a cheap suit. Incredible turn around.

Malcolm Emmett: Pakistan seem unrecognisable from the team that lost to India. More energy in the field and from the bowlers

Phil Knox: Can't be many Champions Trophy innings with so few boundaries!

    SA 128-6

Shadab Khan twinkles in with his elbows pointing towards the sky before fizzing down some whippy leg-breaks. Turn, beating the swiping Morris. The leggy can always make you look silly. It really is a brilliant watch, every ball an event. Drinks break. South Africa have ordered a scotch.
