  1. Goodbye...published at 18:58 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

Another rain-affected game at Edgbaston but there is very little doubt on who was going on to win this. Stellar performances with the ball, led by Mark Wood and Adil Rashid. At 35-3, England were in trouble, but captain Eoin Morgan played an important knock and Ben Stokes reminded us why he is such a gem.

However, there are still some major question marks on Jason Roy, who went cheaply once again.

You can watch highlights of this game on BBC Two at 22:30 BST this evening.

England will play the runners-up of Group B on Wednesday. On Sunday, we have a blockbuster game featuring India and South Africa, in what is essentially a quarter-final.

Until then, enjoy your Saturday night. Goodbye.

Australia have had some bad luck along the way but today is not in that category. They have been well beaten by England.

I would definitely stick with Jason Roy for the semi-final, because that might be the confidence boost for his game.

England hit eight sixes and 27 fours - that's 66% in boundaries, compared in their overall average of 50% in the past two seasons.

Of their past 17 home ODIs, England have won 14, lost two and tied one.

  7. 'Stokes the best in the world'published at 18:38 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

    Graeme Swann

The thing for me was the audacious nature of the England response to being 35-3.

Ben Stokes at the moment looks as good as any player in the world. He's come back from the IPL in a bubble of confidence. For his own confidence, for his own stature on the world stage, this is the most significant knock of his career.

  8. England win by 40 runs (DLS)published at 18:37 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

There we go, we have confirmation. England have beaten Australia by 40 runs on DLS.

They top Group A, Bangladesh second. Australia and New Zealand are heading home.

Who would have predicted that at the start of the tournament?

Right on cue, Swanny. I had these clips of Rashid all ready to go. The Yorkshire-man matched Wood with four wickets, ending with figures of 10-1-41-4

Adil Rashid bowled beautifully. Sometimes injuries are a blessing in disguise - and Chris Woakes' injury is proving to be just that for Rashid.

For those who may have missed it: Yes, Stokes was on fire, but here's how Mark Wood continued to impress with the ball earlier today, finishing with figures of 10-1-33-4

The rain seems to be heavier than anything we've seen so far today. As it stands, England and Bangladesh will make it through Group A and into the semi-finals.

Australia, like New Zealand, will be on that long flight home.

Swanny is spot on, this is up there with Ben Stokes' finest England performances ...
