Eoin Morgan took the attack back to Australia and surely he's taken England to a winning position...

Morgan was ball watching - and he sacrificed himself. It was an outstanding innings, one of the best I've seen from him. They're ahead of the game now. But you can't give Australia a sniff.

Morgan run out (Zampa) 87 (Eng 194-4)

The captain couldn't quite see it out. He chips one towards mid-on, it falls short. He gets away it, but with Stokes halfway down the wicket, Morgan gets caught in no man's land and can't make his ground as he turns back. A direct hit from Zampa. Good piece of fielding.

A glimmer of hope for Australia? Muted celebrations.

What I love about this partnership is, even though it has been dominant, it hasn't been frenetic. Stokes and Morgan are just showing their skills on the big stage.

Cummins can't catch a break. To be fair, it's his own doing. He bowls full to Stokes who drills it through the covers for four.

A bit of encouragement for the Australian as he gets one to move away, inviting a play and a miss from the England all-rounder.

Who will be the first to reach their century?

What a Saturday of sport this is!! Lions winning this morning, Stokes and Morgan putting it to the Aussies, Scotland v England in a few mins and Argentina v England to finish the day off. Sometimes life is very good!

Three from the Starc over but that hasn't turned down the volume of the England fans.

Baddiel and Skinner's 'Three Lions' can be heard loud and clear in the Hollies Stand. Every time Finch touches the ball there's laughs, jeers, "ooohs" and "aahhhs."

Steve Smith looks bemused. Perhaps deep in thought on which film he will watch on the flight home.

Stranger things have happened, but England absolutely dominating.

That is the first time a batsman has hit Hazlewood for three sixes in an ODI innings.

Phenomenal hand speed from Eoin Morgan, running down the wicket as fast as he could, getting himself set and launching it over mid-wicket. Unfortunately, it was dropped in the crowd. Phenomenal.

Oh my word, Eoin Morgan does not want to hang about. In what was on its way to being another tight over from Hazlewood, the England captain advanced down the wicket at pace and blasted it over midwicket for six.

Spilled by a chap in the crowd.

Stokes and Morgan's partnership is England's highest for the fourth wicket in an ODI against Australia since Allan Lamb and Derek Randall out on 139 at the MCG in 1983.

  13. Eng 177-3published at 28 overs

    Cummins 6-1-46-0

Morgan got hold of that one! Cummins over the wicket to the left-hander. He offers him far too much width, Morgan sets his feet and it whizzes through to the square-leg boundary.

Some questionable dance moves going on in the crowd.

That big crowd has not failed to make themselves heard, nor have failed in their attempts to hit Aaron Finch with some verbal jousts.

England happy to see off Hazlewood, just the one from the over. A rare, good one for Australia.

Whatever the outcome, make sure to watch the highlights on BBC Two tonight at 22:30. You'll be able to see battles such as Morgan v Maxwell ...

Biggest ever attendance today for an ODI at this ground - 24,227, some of them even yet to pass the five-drink mark. 71 more than a week ago for India v Pakistan (total not sobriety).

  17. Eng 169-3published at 26 overs

Cummins comes back. Cummins goes for another boundary. Stokes hits a remarkable shot, flicking one which is back of a length on the off to the mid-wicket boundary. It's all going England's way, Stokes with a thick edge which falls well short of third man.

This batting is explosive, the crowd are on form and I cannot wait to see what happens over the next 25 overs.

  20. Eng 163-3published at 25 overs

    Morgan 72, Stokes 69

Ben Stokes has just flat-batted a six. That is ridiculously good. And it cruelly teased the fielder down at long-on, David Warner, all the way. It didn't go that high into the air and Warner leapt, thinking he could grab it with one hand, and the ball just skipped over his fingers and into the stands. There was so much power behind that shot that it's ridiculous.
