By looking to attack and dominate, Stokes and Morgan have turned this game on its head. They've also dragged their score up to the DLS par score.

A policeman applauds as Stokes throws his hands to a Cummins delivery and cuts furiously to the boundary. Glenn Maxwell jumped, trying to pull off another wonder catch, but that was hit firmly. Full toss from Cummins, and Stokes has given it the treatment! That's four, and Steve Smith runs his hands through his hair in genuine irritation. And another boundary to round off the over, a half-volley and Stokes clatters it away.

I know we can't control the weather but can England be a legitimate location/venue for this type of tournament if it's possible for a team to be knocked out purely because their three games have been rained off? Has this ever happened before?

Steve Smith has turned to his spinners. Here's Travis Head. It's a decent over apart from a full toss that Stokes thuds away to the boundary. Stokes then pats the ball down to Smith at cover, and he hurls the ball in towards the stumps with alarming ferocity.
The 50 partnership is up for England from just 7.2 overs. Morgan and Stokes have been great after the rain break, not allowing the stoppage to break their rhythm.
Stokes 22, Morgan 43
There are two Bangladesh fans in the crowd who are cheering England on. Of course, if England win, they'll send Bangladesh through. Aaron Finch, meanwhile, is winding the crowd up, but they're straight back on his case as Stokes drives gloriously for four. That was timed perfectly, the umpire having to dive to his right as the ball sped past to the boundary.

I'm loving this intent from Morgan and Stokes. Even though they have lost a few early wickets, I like the fact they are still attacking and not letting the Australian bowlers settle into their line and length.
That's massive from Morgan! Dearie me, a top edge from Morgan, taking on Hazlewood again and it's absolutely flown into the stands! Hazlewood stands, hands on hips, a look of 'what can you do?' on his face. The Eric Hollies stand, who are in fine voice, break into a round of Baddiel & Skinner's Three Lions, replacing 'football's coming home' with 'Finch is going home'. That's directed at Aaron Finch, who has the misfortune to be fielding in front of them.

Stokes is batting with swagger and an air of arrogance, as if he believes he is one the world's best players, and he undoubtedly is.
Target 278
Shot! That's one to make the crowd purr from Stokes. Cummins just drifts onto the pads and Stokes meets it, twirling his wrists to drive the ball through mid-wicket for four. And again! Cummins goes short, fizzing a bouncer down to Stokes, and the England man gets under it quickly to help it down to the boundary. 11 from that over.
Stokes 3, Morgan 34
Into the stands! That's ridiculous from Morgan - he was into position straight away, comfortable on the back foot to greet the short ball from Hazlewood and pull it over the ropes. That's a magnificent shot. Morgan's been whizzing along since the rain delay. He's added 20 runs in the past four overs.

Scraps of blue sky over Edgbaston for the first time all day, with the clouds high and white away to the west, where the weather is coming from. Although the forecast is looking rather familiar to damp-socked Aussies from about 5pm.
Stokes 2, Morgan 28
Pat Cummins is on for Australia and keeps Morgan quiet with a maiden. Good bowling from the seamer, mixing up his lengths nicely, with a surprise bouncer to keep Morgan alert.

Hazlewood reminds me of Angus Fraser - that same kind of pace, that same sort of run up.
Target 278
Streaky from Morgan! He goes with hard hands to Hazlewood and somehow he's managed to slice the ball between two fielders and away for four. Play is then held up by a Beefeater, sat in front of the sight screen. That's not a sentence I get to type very often. Stokes gets off the mark with a nice little push for two that brings up 50.

The Aussies are a fantastic team to play. You never know when they are beaten. They come back at you all the time.
Dave in the dry South.

Starc's had enough of letting the batsmen take runs off him and whizzes down a bouncer that Morgan sways away from. Morgan slashes outside off stump but connects with fresh air, before fending a short ball away from his body in slightly jumpy fashion.

This is as well as I've ever seen Morgan start, let alone drive the ball, for England. Exquisite.
The sun has come out! And Eoin Morgan has driven the first ball after the restart for four! That's a lovely shot, inch-perfect placement to beat the close fielders. And again! A touch straighter this time, and the ball races away to the boundary. Steve Smith sticks his sunglasses on and mutters to himself.
