I'll be honest, I think this tournament was in dire need of an old-fashioned comedy batting collapse. England, now pretty good, have let us down on that front, so South Africa are obliging. Three wickets have gone down for 17 runs. Chris Morris is the new man. Looking again, Du Plessis didn't just leave the gate open, he put the family silver in a swag bag, opened the front door and erected a sign that said "burglars welcome".

You feel with that wicket South Africa will struggle to post a score which will worry India at all. They have to just fight and scrap now - all plans go out the window. This South Africa innings is just disintegrating. They put themselves under too much pressure earlier on.

    Du Plessis b Pandya 36 (SA 157-5)

Bowled him! South Africa are in complete disarray! Faf du Plessis is fooled by a Hardik Pandya slower ball and chops on to his own stumps. He's been involved in two run-outs and now he's been outfoxed. Someone might want to keep an eye on Faf for a little while...

Drove an hour for a cup quarter-final in the rain. Arrived in the rain. Waited an hour and a half for the rain to stop before being told the game was cancelled. We played a game of football instead and won 4-1. We thought that should have put us through to the semis.

As a fielding side, is there anything more satisfying than a run-out? There's something rather wonderful about seeing the bails removed as a batsman skids face-down in the dirt. Jadeja's left-arm spin doesn't look like being sent to the boundary, which means South Africa have to take singles. We all know how dangerous that can be.

South Africa's two gone batsmen were the two big hitters who would have got them to a big total. One of these two now need to play the knock of their lives.

What do South Africa do here? They don't know if it's time for breakfast or a haircut. Slip in place for Duminy as Pandya trundles in. Every time the Proteas set off for a single you feel like it will end in a mess. There are only 18 overs to go. They will have to do something special to even be competitive.

I'll keep going over that second run-out, because it was extraordinary. The new batsmen met halfway down and did the sort of shuffle you might see on Strictly. The throw from Bumrah at short third man was also pretty awful. Cricket is a poorer sport after that exchange.

Yep, little tickle as he played the sweep shot. In the dressing room, South Africa are watching from behind the settee.

JP Duminy given out lbw to Ravi Jadeja! Two noises. Surely an inside edge?

What is going on out there? Another single with Du Plessis diving. Looking at the run-out again, the ball went to short third man, so was Miller's call. Why did Du Plessis turn back? The throw may have even targeted the striker's end, but ended up with the bowler. JP Duminy is the new man. Be careful, JP, Faf is on a mission...

Miller run out 1 (SA 142-4)

This is the sort of thing that will be replayed for years to come. It's awful from South Africa, ending with both Faf du Plessis and David Miller trying to make their ground at the striker's end. Problem is, the ball is at the non-striker's end. Miller came, Du Plessis turned, Faf dived, Miller didn't. Two run-outs in six balls.

That was comical. Comical and tragic. I don't know if Du Plessis left his ground - they are going to have to wait and have a look.

Absolutely incredible. There's a run-out. Both men are at the same end. Who is out? It's completely farcical.
