John: Don't over analyse, we just didn't play well today. It happens in sport. England playing the right brand of cricket.

More from England captain Eoin Morgan: "We were the only unbeaten side in the tournament in what was a very tough group and we did it our way. We played really positive smart cricket, so there are some big positives to take.

"The fact we've produced brilliant performances in this tournament and then play like that on this wicket is extremely disappointing."

On Jonny Bairstow's future: "We'll have to wait and see as we don't play another ODI until the middle of September. Jonny is in the T20 squad and is going to play, we're fortunate we have guys like him that can step in."

Hasan Ali enjoyed another great day with the ball, picking up three wickets for the third consecutive game.

He has also just been taking selfies with his man of the match trophy. Hope he has turned data roaming off.

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed: "Credit goes to the bowlers and the batters who finished it very well. We adapted to conditions, we knew if we restrict them we could easily chase it down.

"Every game is a knockout game and I told my boys to play their game and not worry about the result.

"Both India and Bangladesh are playing good so either of them can be in the final."

Pakistan opted to bowl first, which we all thought was the wrong decision, as we thought the pitch would deteriorate and become harder to score on. England got stuck in the middle period after starting well, and then were even well set at 100 for 2 but we lost our way in the middle period. When the ball got older it looked harder to bat and we struggled to gain momentum. Pakistan have played the perfect game, they're peaking at the perfect time.

England captain Eoin Morgan: "One thing we didn't do was adapt to conditions, which I thought Pakistan did extremely well.

"Full credit to them, they outplayed us on this wicket.

"We did prepare for a used wicket but 211 wasn't a good score. 250/270 would have been. This pitch is a test, the Champions Trophy is a test, you can't have home conditions for any side."

A more one-sided one-day match you won't see. Pakistan had all the time in the world to spare. It's been an absolute thrashing. England were in the game at 128-2, but from then on it was Pakistan all the way with the ball and then they came out with a bang with the bat.

Man of the match Hasan Ali: "It was a big match and we were focused on our bowling. The way I bowled against South Africa is the same way I bowled today.

"I stuck to my plans and Azhar Mahmood (the bowling coach) helped me a lot. Tomorrow is my brother's birthday and I dedicate my man of the match award to him."
