  1. Pak 187-2published at 35 overs

Pakistan need another 25 runs with 8 wickets and 15 overs remaining

Jake Ball with a slightly wide one and it's cut through point by Hafeez. Would have been four had it not been for a smart spot of fielding by Bairstow in the deep.

The Barmy Army and every England fan has been waiting for that Pakistan collapse. There were so many questions about their batting line-up prior to this game but they have found the gaps and boundaries alike. The England bowlers too short first up and their backs have been against the walls since.

    Pak 183-2

Adil Rashid is done for the day and, most likely, is done for the rest of the tournament. He has one wicket to his name but he should have two. He darts a quicker one in, Babar, coming down the wicket, gets in a tangle and Buttler is poor behind the stumps. The wicketkeeper can't hold on for what would have been an easy stumping chance.

How does Babar react to that? By staying in his crease and cracking the ball over the long-off boundary for six.

Since the last World Cup, of matches played between the eight teams at this tournament, Pakistan's bowlers have the second worst record, only Sri Lanka were worse.

  5. Pak 176-2published at 33 overs

That brings the experienced Mohammad Hafeez to the crease and he is off the mark with a gentle punch through the covers.

It was an important knock from opener Azhar Ali, who looks to have played a massive role in getting his team to the final, barring something short of a miracle.

Very unlucky that in the end, it could have gone anywhere. You never know, but I think we all know it'll make no odds.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 32.2 overs

    Azhar Ali b Ball 76 (Pak 173-2)

The opener's fine innings comes to an end. A slower ball bumper outfoxes Azhar, who advances down the wicket, tries to slap it away and instead bottom edges it into the stumps.

    A muted celebration from England.

  8. Pak 173-1published at 32 overs

    Azhar 76, Barbar 30

Adil Rashid gives it some flight and Babar again targets that long boundary in the deep covers for three.

Azhar misses out on a short and wide and Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur shares a little smile from the balcony.

There's a different type of pressure to tournament cricket compared to five-match series. It's legitimate to ask the question if England, who have improved massively as a one-day team, have faltered under the pressure of tournament cricket.

  10. Pak 169-1published at 31 overs

Pakistan require another 43 to win

Morgan turns to Jake Ball who goes for three.

The chanting, singing and vuvuzeling is back in full force from the Pakistan fans. Their team has made this look like a completely different track to when the hosts were batting.

The required runs per over now down to just 2.26.

  12. Pak 166-1published at 30 overs

Babar Azam chips one up and over the covers but it can't quite reach the boundary, cleaned up in the man in the deep. They run three.

A good over other than that for Rashid.

We have 20 overs remaining, Pakistan need 46.

The most inconsistent thing Pakistan could have done was to play consistently well today.

The sweetest of straight drives from Babar. Pitched up from Plunkett and timed to perfection, whistling past the stumps at the opposite end and racing to the boundary.

Eoin Morgan has tried his best to keep morale up in this innings, clapping and encouraging his bowlers throughout. But for the first time I've seen him looking frustrated, he has the face of a teenager who didn't get the latest games console for Christmas.

Pakistan have gone about their business brilliantly today. Their bowlers were flawless. They got a little bit of movement and bowled on a length.

  16. Eng 157-1published at 28 overs

Too short from Rashid and Babar rocks back and strikes it though mid-wicket for four. A few more like that from the leggie and it won't take Pakistan too much longer to chase down this target.

Babar has done well since he has come in, scoring at a run-a-ball and showing maturity beyond his 22 years of age.

  18. Pak 152-1published at 27 overs

Nothing really going England's way, Babar top-edging a pull which lands safe.

A decent over from Plunkett, conceding just three.

There's an air of inevitability about this game and you can see that from the body language of the England fielders.

The Pakistan fans have quietened down a tad. I imagine that will pick up as their side get nearer to the total.

England might have been spooked by the pitch, but Pakistan are racing along.

  20. Pak 149-1published at 26 overs

    Azhar 65, Babar 18

    Cheers, Amy.

Pakistan picking up the ones and twos with a repertoire of scoring shots - worked off the hips, paddle-sweep, cover drive, square cut.

Seven from the over, 63 more needed.
