India skipper Virat Kohli: "Hopefully our two openers can give us a solid base in the final.

"We have some experienced players now and hopefully next time we will come strongly.

"You have to be stronger mentally in these type of games but otherwise we did well."

A word for Bangladesh, who enlivened this tournament in their three group games but found this semi-final a match too far.

They'll come again, with plenty of exciting youngsters and some wily experience in their ranks.

India captain Virat Kohli: "We had another complete game and we needed a clean, collective performance to beat this Bangladesh side.

"We didn't expect to win by nine wickets but that's the quality of batsman we have up front and I could play my natural game when I came in.

"With the ball we were really good, we kept it tight and then got those two or three quick wickets

"Kedar Jadhav is not a surprise package, he's a smart guy and knows where to pitch the ball and get purchase off the wickets."

In the end, Kohli had to settle for an unbeaten 96, securing a nine-wicket victory for his side with a boundary to finish and set up a mouth-watering final against Pakistan.

Kohli even threatened to reach his century as he flayed the Bangladesh bowlers to all parts...

At the other end, Rohit still looked in fine fettle and brought up his 11th ODI century with a six...

The India skipper raced to yet another ODI fifty and also became the fastest batsman in history to 8,000 ODI runs. Doing so in his 175th innings, with previous record holder South Africa captain AB de Villiers having taken 182.

And Virat Kohli underlined his well-deserved reputation as the best chaser in the game with a series of sublime cover drives...

Rohit continued unaffected by his partner's departure though as he reached his fifty...

Dhawan then reclaimed his position as the tournament's leading scorer from Bangladesh counterpart Tamim Iqbal...

Only to then miscue a woeful stroke when well set as he was caught by Mosaddek off Mortaza....

So after Jadhav's impressive spell with ball had helped restrict Bangladesh to 264, India openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan set off in pursuit in some style...

India off-spinner Kedar Jadhav, who took 2-22, speaking to Test Match Special: "It's always a good feeling when you can contribute in a win. The way Tamim and Mushfiqur were batting, we needed a breakthrough. It was a happy moment for me.

"I'm not a big turner of the ball. I rely on pace and variations. I need to keep doing that and keep the batsman guessing.

"It's a great moment that we have got in this tournament. We would like to carry this into the final. It will be a great match, especially for the crowd. For us, it is just another game, I guess. That is how you will be able to keep doing the process and not worry about the result."

Bangladesh needed wickets at the top and they usually rely on swing. There has been moisture in the air but these white Kookaburra balls just don't swing and they had no answer.

I was kind of glad Shikhar Dhawan got out because I wanted to watch Virat Kohli play. Although it was almost like batting practice for him today, I'll remember that innings for a long time. It was glorious.
