More from Rohit Sharma: "Virat looked absolutely fluent, as soon as he walked in it felt like he had been batting overnight. He continues to play the game he likes to. As a captain he was brilliant on the field. So far he has done a great job. One last game and it will all be good."

  2. Man of the match - Rohit Sharmapublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 15 June 2017

India batsman Rohit Sharma, who made an unbeaten 123: "It was a great knock, especially when it comes on a winning note. It's always memorable to win the game and score a hundred. The last few games I was trying to get a big one and I was quite determined today.

"As a team we've been playing really good cricket. We've been bowling well too. We've almost got everything covered, otherwise we wouldn't have been in the final. It's one last hurdle for us. It's a big game against Pakistan. We're all up for it."

We've seen a couple of surprises in this tournament, but no real nail-biter and we could do with that on Sunday. If you get a thriller and a nail-biter at the end, you look back at that.

It was too easy today for India but Bangladesh have done themselves proud and their country proud in this tournament. A lot of people predicted India would be in the final. For me, the batting, they've got the death bowlers - they're so well rounded at the moment.

Fittingly, it was an extra cover drive from Kohli to win the match.

  9. INDIA WIN BY NINE WICKETSpublished at 40.1 overs

    Ind 265-1

Ah, no chance of a century for Kohli. But he's aptly belted the winnings runs with yet another gorgeous cover drive and India win by nine wickets.

Just the small matter of a final against Pakistan now...hopefully that'll be a cracker.

India are winning this at a walking pace. The hustle and energy went out of this contest a while ago. It's all about ticking off the last couple of runs.

  11. Ind 261-1published at 40 overs

    Rohit 123, Kohli 92

Just a couple more singles off the over and India need just four runs to win.

A two and a six would take Kohli to 100. Will he go for it?

  12. Ind 259-1published at 39.4 overs

    Need six runs to win

Three straight singles after an opening dot ball and one big blow will do it for India...

  13. Ind 256-1published at 39 overs

    Need nine runs to win

Kohli eases through for a single and it's an important one as he becomes the fastest batsman to reach 8,000 ODI runs.

It's taken him 175 innings. South Africa captain AB de Villiers had held the record with 182. Third is India's Sourav Ganguly on 202.

Ridiculous dominance of the form by Kohli. India sauntering towards this target.

That was as bad a ball as you will see in top-flight cricket. It's a gift.

  15. Ind 253-1published at 38.1 overs

Sabbir is in. Oh dear, his first ball is so utterly dreadful it's almost surprising that Kohli kept his composure to belt it away to the boundary.

Actually it's not surprising at all. He's Kohli.

  16. Ind 249-1published at 38 overs

    Need 16 runs to win

Shakib drifts onto Kohli's pads and the skipper tucks him away down leg for four before trotting through for a single.

Ooof, Rohit shows no mercy off the final ball of the over, belting a full ball through the covers for four.

Three sixes or two sixes and a four would do it....

It's frustrating for Bangladesh. They're a team on the up, it was great to see them win that Test against England in the winter. You feel they're on the move and in the right direction.

  18. Postpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 15 June 2017

Bangladesh have been excellent at times in this tournament but their Achilles heel is clearly their bowling, or more specifically their bowlers' wicket-taking ability.

Including this game, they've taken just 12 wickets in the tournament.

And their average runs conceded per wicket is 74 - the next worse side in that category is Sri Lanka on 45.

  19. Ind 239-1published at 37 overs

    Need 26 runs to win

Rohit might not let his captain reach that century though, the way he's playing. Kohli takes a single, dabbing it down to third man and Rohit tucks into a Taskin short ball, pulling it away for four.

Another pull gets just a single before Kohli miscues a shot for no run.

  20. Ind 233-1published at 36.1 overs

Does Virat Kohli want a century? Oh you betcha. A short ball from Taskin first up and the India skipper flashes it up and away for four through backward point. He moves to 77 and India need just 32 to win.
