  1. Pak 48-0published at 9 overs

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been the most accurate this morning, and Fakhar has a good old fashioned swing and a miss at a short delivery. That's an excellent over, Bhuvneshwar mixing up his lines and lengths nicely to keep Fakhar at bay. Maiden!

India have been a little ill-disciplined with the ball this morning - here's the non-dismissal of Fakhar Zaman a few overs ago.

  3. 6 runs

    Pak 48-0published at 8 overs

    Azhar 23, Fakhar 14

Kohli is ringing in the changes - here's Ravichandran Ashwin. And it's sloppy from the spinner, serving up two wides either side of the batsmen. He's not been in the greatest form in this tournament - he's taken 1-97 in his two Champions Trophy appearances. And he's just been launched for six by Azhar Ali! That's beautiful, to the pitch of the ball and a flowing heave over long-on.

Wonderful mix of cultures outside The Oval. India and Pakistan fans were having a right knees-up, while established British treasures mingled amongst them. Sir Trevor McDonald touched my arm (ambition fulfilled) and Mike Brearley (cream suit, sandals, socks) said good morning.

  5. Pak 38-0published at 7 overs

    Bhuvneshwar 4-1-10-0

Azhar aims a flamingo swat down the ground - a bit like Pietersen used to do - but he only ends up connecting with fresh air. This is a much quieter over, which gives Bhuvneshwar Kumar time to tidy his line up, the batsman a chance to nab a quick single and me a chance to drink my brew.

sonsofpunjab: Pakistan yet to beat India in a major ICC tournament, but it has to happen sometime...could today be that day?

Rakesh Pradhan‏: So 5 of the previous 6 Champions Trophy finals have been won by teams who chased. India chase today. Any intuitions?

  7. Pak 36-0published at 6 overs

Well. These two are going down swinging. Azhar Ali frees his arms and gets a thick edge on a wide delivery for four, before he tries to send Jasprit Bumrah somewhere into Harleyford Street. He doesn't connect, though, and Dhoni shoots him a filthy look of reproach as he avoids edging the ball. That's more controlled from the batsman, though, meeting a half-volley with a classy turn of the wrists.

Here's the first chance India had to dismiss Fakhar this morning - a run out attempt, with a cracking throw from Kedar Jadhav.

  9. Pak 27-0published at 5 overs

    Azhar 7, Fakhar 12

What do you do when you've been reprieved? Charge down the wicket at India's top wicket-taker in this tournament and flay him through the covers for four. Nicely done from Fakhar. It wasn't the most controlled of shots but it had plenty of oomph.

  10. Pak 23-0published at 4.3 overs

Ey?! Fakhar's managed to send a short ball through first slip for four. How's he managed that? Ah, the ball has come off the top of his helmet and then flown inbetween MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma at slip. Fakhar was aiming through the leg side there. It's been given as leg byes, unsurprisingly.

Its a Super Sunday for Indian-Pakistani sport fans. While the cricketers meet at The Oval for the Champions Trophy final, hockey fans await another treat against the same rival in hockey. It's India v Pakistan at the Hockey World League game in Olympic Park, London this evening.

Nice and quiet in that last over: a wide, a wicket that ended up being a no ball, dot, four, dot, four, dot, wide, dot.

  13. Pak 19-0published at 4 overs

    Azhar 7, Fakhar 8

Oh, Virat Kohli is ticking. He's not a happy bunny. That was the only wide delivery Bumrah had served up and Fakhar had gone for it hook, line and sinker. Fakhar adds insult to injury with a streaky chop that slides past the stumps and away to the boundary. That's a definite four though, a short sort of delivery that Azhar Ali batters past the bowler and into the ropes.

India have been bang on with their line and especially against Fakhar Zaman.

  15. Fakhar out - but it's a no ball!published at 3 overs

    Pak 9-0

That is unbelievable - Fakhar edges behind, but it's a no ball from Bumrah! That was a wide delivery from the India bowler and Fakhar Zaman couldn't resist a slice at it. The ball clipped the edged, Dhoni dived and grabbed the ball with two hands. Fakhar started trudging off and then stopped, and a trip to the third umpire upstairs confirmed that Bumrah had overstepped!

Dave Wood: Hate to say it, but India wining the toss was the worst thing that could have happened. Fear it will be very one sided

  17. Pak 7-0published at 3 overs

Ooh! Fakhar drops the ball down and darts down the wicket. Kedar Jadhav swoops, Fakhar has still got half the pitch to cover, and the fielder throws - and misses! He'd have been gone, too, had that hit. Virat Kohli applauds furiously, and does so again as Hardik Pandya executes another fine pick up and throw to cut off Pakistan's batsmen. Cracking accuracy from India first up.

BBC weather forecaster Jake Cope: Ice cream sellers and cricket fans alike will be glad of the clear blue skies across south London today. No weather related interruptions are expected at all with no clouds, no rain, and no wind. It’s going to be a hot one hitting 32 Celsius so for players and fans, drinks breaks will be important. Being a weather forecaster I’ll do my best to spoil things though, UV and pollen levels are both very high. Short version - Sun cream, ice cream and the cream of the white ball crop. Enjoy!

I think India will be happy with the toss. I've written off Pakistan in the past because of their batting, but let's see if they can handle the pressure. Anything under 300 and India will be confident of knocking them off.

  20. Pak 3-0published at 2 overs

Here's Jasprit Bumrah, his sights firmly trained on Fakhar Zaman. He's got a very odd field to bowl to - any width, and Fakhar can fling his arms and find the gap through mid-wicket. But Pakistan get runs on the board with a wide-ish delivery that Fakhar chops at, and just narrowly avoids edging onto his stumps. Good bowling, though, full and straight to limit the batsman.
