    Nitin Srivastava
BBC World Service reporter in Delhi

Rains last night brought respite to Indian capital Delhi from the blistering heat, but people haven't opted to come out and enjoy. They are staying in to watch - this match is bigger than anything else out here. #DesertedRoads

  2. Pak 0-0published at 1 over

Ooh, that's a lovely delivery from Kumar, nipping back in to Azhar Ali and the batsman spoons an inside edge into his pads. Azhar drives, a little aerially, but he can't beat cover. The noise is tremendous, a real cacophony of trumpets and voices. That's a maiden to start us off.

Azhar Ali and Fakhar Zaman have made their way to the middle. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has got the ball in his hands. Virat Kohli is jumping up and down, the roar from the crowd is steadily building.

A lot of people in finals talk about batting first to put scoreboard pressure on. But India are a side who are so used to chasing. Pakistan have done well chasing second but they will have got a lot of confidence from having restricted England in that last match.

The Oval looks absolutely amazing. Seas of blue and green, flags being waved everywhere, drums pounded on as the teams walk out for the national anthems.

There will be a minute's silence first, in commemoration of the victims of the Grenfell Tower.

  15. Being Virat Kohli, by AB de Villierspublished at 10:13 British Summer Time 18 June 2017

"He is a consummate surgeon at the crease, intensely focussed, working hard, playing the ball into gaps in the field and staying calm under pressure.

"He is always judging the right time to consolidate and the right time to seize a game by the scruff of the neck."

Not my words, but those of South Africa captain AB de Villiers - and he knows a thing or two about cricket - about his friend, Virat Kohli.

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed: "We will hope to score 300 plus runs. I am proud of my boys: we were ranked number eight and today, we have nothing to lose."

  17. 'It's almost a clincher'published at 10:11 British Summer Time 18 June 2017

This is Pakistan's first appearance in a 50-over global final since the 1999 World Cup in England.

They arrived at this tournament as the lowest seed of the eight teams.

"I just know it'll mean a massive amount to them. The guys, again, have been special," coach Mickey Arthur said.

"I can't praise them enough. For us it'll just be almost a clincher for us in terms of the brand of cricket we want to play, where we want to take the team."

"We came here very, very firmly of the opinion that we wanted to come here and win it."

India captain Virat Kohli: "We will try and exploit the even grass and it is better to bowl first. We have played here before, one more effort to go and I'm sure the guys will give it our best shot. We don't take any opposition for granted and we are looking to play some great cricket here. Hopefully we can have a good performance."

  19. Twitter? No thank you...published at 10:07 British Summer Time 18 June 2017

How do you go about securing a route to an international 50-over final?

    By ignoring social media, apparently.

That's one of the things Virat Kohli is crediting for his side's run to the final - limiting his exposure to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

"Honestly, it sounds funny, but it's so important to stay away from those things, to connect to things that matter," he said. "You have to make that sort of effort to stay in a good zone and a good mindset."

Still time for the odd photo of the squad, though...

  20. Amir back for Pakistanpublished at 10:05 British Summer Time 18 June 2017

Kohli is having to yell at poor Sanjay Manjrekar, despite the fact he's holding a microphone, so he can be heard over the noise of the crowd. India are unchanged.

Sarfraz says he'd have liked to have a bowl first. Just the one change for Pakistan, with Mohammad Amir returning to the line-up.
