    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

I said it would be difficult for Nottinghamshire and it is. They have lost three wickets in the space of seven balls. Graham Onions started it with the dismissal of Greg Smith for 4 as he edged to Paul Collingwood at 1st slip in the fourth over.

Chris Rushworth followed that up with a double wicket maiden as he bowled Jake Libby for 3 and then got Alex Hales LBW for 0.

Who would want to be a batsman in April, in the cold, in England?

A post-lunch fightback by Glamorgan has put an entirely different look to the opening day against Worcestershire.

Resuming at 105-8, David Lloyd and Lukas Carey took the fight to Worcestershire, adding 68 from just eight overs.

Michael Hogan then joined Lloyd and they picked up a batting bonus point before Lloyd was the last man to go for 88 as Glamorgan reached 207 all out.

Worcestershire’s openers then both went for ducks both caught behind, with Hogan and Carey getting a wicket each.

    Poynter 65; Fletcher 3-23

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

It's as gloomy now as it was when Durham began their innings this morning and their 162 could yet prove competitive in difficult conditions in Chester-le-Street.

Stuart Poynter's quick-fire 65 was much-needed and watched by an enthusiastic home crowd. He added 52 for the final wicket with Chris Rushworth, while the wickets were shared as Jake Ball, Luke Fletcher and James Pattinson took three apiece.

Tea will be at 16:00 BST if the weather holds, leaving Notts with a tricky session of another 28 minutes.

    Middlesex 171-2 v Hampshire

After losing Sam Robson, Middlesex pair Stevie Eskinazi and Dawid Malan are not looking to take any risks in the lead up to tea.

That has lead to things taking a slightly slower approach and run scoring effort to proceedings.

  12. Dickson continues to build while partners fallpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 14 April 2017

    Kent 123-3 v Sussex

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Kent at Hove

The curse of the half-decent partnership strikes again for Kent.

Sam Northeast goes for 23, mistiming a hook straight to the bucket-like hands of Weise at mid-on.

That's partnerships of 27, 35 and 53 now for Kent in this innings, and in the 23 Kent wickets that have fallen this season, the highest partnership they have managed is 60.

Sean Dickson is still building though, and has just got a hard-earned 50 off 163 balls.

    Warwickshire 130-8 v Yorkshire

What was I saying about unscheduled rain delays and wickets falling?

Jeetan Patel cannot survive past Adil Rashid's first over after the resumption of play as the New Zealand man is outfoxed by the Yorkshire spinner's googly. Warwickshire are sinking fast at Edgbaston.

    Durham 162 v Nottinghamshire

    Stuart PoynterImage source, Getty Images

Luke Fletcher ends Stuart Poynter's resistance as he bowls the the wicketkeeper for 64.

But for some rearguard action, with the final three wickets adding 91 runs, the hosts could have easily bundled out for the their lowest ever score against Nottinghamshire.

Chris Rushworth and Graham Onions will be hoping to pick up some early wickets before tea.

    Alex Winter

The sun has poked it's way through at the Racecourse Ground and Derbyshire are trying to build again after losing two wickets in six balls just after lunch.

Gary Wilson (39 not out), after a winter move from Surrey, is leading the progress with a run-a-ball innings so far, playing the ball late and looking in control.

He's the experience that Derbyshire will be hoping can be at the vanguard of their recovery.

Stuart Poynter is enjoying himself, with his 51 coming up thanks to a ninth boundary.

It took 45 balls and is the third time he has reached a half century in First Class cricket. Durham needed this but they also need a lot more out of today.
