  3. Close of play at Leicestershirepublished at 18:59 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Leicestershire 251 & 51-6 v Notts 329

Leicestershire make sure there will be a third day at Grace Road as skipper Mark Cosgrove and Gavin Griffiths see out the final few overs.

But they're still well behind the eight-ball.

And that my friends, is your lot for day two.

Let's have a look at the scores...

  4. Day two belongs to Kentpublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Kent 298 & 118-4 v Gloucestershire 149

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Kent

If, three balls before lunch today, you had said to be that Kent would have 120 on the board in their second innings, I would have told you that there's more chance of me running in the Grand National.

Gloucestershire were 89-2, Chris Dent and Will Tavare were going nicely, and all seemed well.

But after Tavare fell just before the interval, a wonderful spell from Mitchell Claydon put an end to that. His 4-35 after lunch starting a collapse which saw the visitors bowled out for 149.

Kent now have a lead of 267 runs, and have the chance to add to that significantly tomorrow.

To borrow another sports' analogy, the ball is very much in the hosts' court.

After one of the most hectic days of county cricket I can remember, we're down to one game.

There are three overs left at Leicestershire - Mark Cosgrove and Gavin Griffiths battling to see them out without any further damage.

  6. Stumps at The Ovalpublished at 18:42 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 91 & 29-0

Thankfully for Warwickshire, day two is over.

It's been an absolute nightmare. Mark Footitt took 6-14 to help skittle the Bears for just 91, all after Surrey had lost their last seven wickets for 76 earlier in the day.

William Porterfield and Alex Mellor have done well to see out the final 10 overs, but it will take a miracle for them to escape from this one.

They'll start day three still 334 adrift.

  7. Close of play at Canterburypublished at 18:36 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Kent 298 & 118-4 v Gloucestershire 149

Kent finish the second day in complete command.

Their lead is up to 267 with six second-innings wickets remaining.

Joe Denly's wicket just before stumps for 59 provided a late boost for Gloucestershire, but they face an uphill task to get anything from the game.

  8. Leicestershire slip to 39-6published at 18:34 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Leicestershire 251 & 39-6 v Notts 329

The game at Grace Road could well be over tonight.

Luke Fletcher takes his third wicket, bowling Ned Eckersley for four.

Leicestershire still trail by 39 with six overs left on day two.

  9. Stumps at Headingleypublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 187 v Hampshire 141 & 10-0

An intriguing day in Leeds, which saw 15 wickets fall, comes to a close.

Kyle Abbott was the star man for Hampshire, taking 7-41, to give his side a slim chance of pulling off victory.

Hampshire openers Michael Carberry and Jimmy Adams will resume on day three needing 310 more to win.

  10. Less frantic at The Ovalpublished at 18:25 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 91 & 13-0

It's been a wicketless first six overs for Surrey following the carnage we saw in Warwickshire's first innings.

There are four overs left in south London.

  11. Leicestershire five downpublished at 18:24 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Leicestershire 251 & 31-5 v Notts 329

The evening session is going from bad to worse for Leicestershire.

Luke Fletcher traps Lewis Hill lbw for just three.

Does anyone have any idea how many wickets have gone down in the six matches today?

Tweet me at #bbccricket to save me getting my abacus out.

  12. Close of play at Chelmsfordpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Essex 159 v Lancashire 319 & 114-1

    Alex DaviesImage source, Rex Features

Lancashire opener Alex Davies goes to his 14th first-class fifty in the final over of the day against Essex.

And it's been completely dominated by the Red Rose county.

After shooting Essex out for 159, Haseeb Hameed (45) and Davies pushed home Lancashire's advantage, which currently stands at 274.

  13. Watch Mark Footitt's spell of 6-14published at 18:11 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

WICKET Coad (b Berg) 0published at 18:10 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 187 v Hampshire 141

Yorkshire's second innings has come to a rapid end at Headingley.

Gareth Berg takes the final wicket, bowling Ben Coad for nought, meaning the hosts have lost their last three wickets in seven balls.

Hampshire will chase 320 to win.

  15. Warwickshire follow-onpublished at 18:07 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 91 & 2-0

Amidst the carnage at Headingley, I did not get a chance to tell you Surrey had enforced the follow-on.

Hardly surprising with a first-innings lead of 363 and more than two days to go.

William Porterfield and Alex Mellor are in the middle for the Bears.

  16. No hat-trick for Abbottpublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 186-9 v Hampshire 141

But Ben Coad survives the hat-trick ball.

I mentioned just now that Kyle Abbott was part of the 'six-for club'. Scrap that, he now has 7-41.

Meanwhile, Yorkshire wicketkeeper Andy Hodd has gone past 50.

WICKET Patterson (lbw b Abbott) 2published at 18:02 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 186-8 v Hampshire 141

Kyle Abbott has joined the Mark Footitt and Ben Raine six-for club. And probably someone else I've forgotten - there have been that many fine bowling performances today.

The South African pins Steven Patterson lbw.

    But wait, he's now on a hat-trick...

  19. Leicestershire slump to 19-4published at 18:00 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Leicestershire 251 & 19-4 v Notts 329

How many wickets have there been today? I've lost count.

Leicestershire are the latest team to collapse with Colin Ackermann and Mark Pettini falling to James Pattinson and giant paceman Luke Fletcher in consecutive overs.

And I thought it was going to be a batting day.

  20. Watch Warwickshire's final wicketpublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 91

Here's the moment Oliver Hannon-Dalby goes...
