  1. wicket

WICKET Barker (b Footitt) 0published at 16:57 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 42-7

As the late-great darts commentator Sid Waddell once said - "I DO NOT BELIEVE MY GOGGLING BINS (eyes)"

Mark Footitt has 6-6. It's simply mind-blowing fast bowling from the 31-year-old.

Keith Barker is bowled and becomes the fifth duck of the innings.

    There are wickets everywhere...

  2. Dream debut for Pattinsonpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Leicestershire 251 v Notts 315-8

Well, I have to say I wasn't expecting James Pattinson to be making the headlines with the bat.

The Aussie is just 17 away from a maiden first-class century.

  4. Five-wicket haulpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 42-6

Mark Footitt has 5-6. FIVE WICKETS FOR SIX RUNS!

The giant Surrey paceman pins Rikki Clarke lbw for nought. It's Warwickshire's fourth duck of the innings.

    They are in absolute tatters.

  5. wicket

WICKET Leaning (lbw b Abbott) 15published at 16:46 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 115-4 v Hampshire 141

How badly did Hampshire need that wicket? It's that man Kyle Abbott again.

The South African claims his fourth scalp of the Yorkshire innings, trapping Jack Leaning in front.

Yorkshire's lead is still a very healthy 247, and Gary Ballance is there on 45, but the visitors have a glimmer of hope at Headingley.

WICKET Porterfield (c Foakes b Footitt) 18published at 16:42 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 42-5

How different is this Oval pitch today? How good is Mark Footitt?!

The left-arm paceman picks up his fourth wicket as William Porterfield nicks an absolute beauty behind.

Footitt's figures - wait for them - 4-6 off six overs!

  8. Can Glamorgan last out day?published at 16:36 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Northants 310 v Glamorgan 101 & 126-6

    Alex Winter
    BBC Radio Northampton sport

A huge wicket on the stroke of tea has realistically ended Glamorgan's hopes of getting back into this game. They are now merely trying to extend the game into a third day.

Colin Ingram was patient and watchful and drove well when he could to get to 47 but was undone by a flighted delivery from Graeme White in the over before the break - it turned a bit into the off stump.

So now we wait to see if Glamorgan can last out the day with their lower order.

  9. Happy birthday Alecpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

Surrey director of cricket Alec Stewart turned 54 today and the lifelong Chelsea fan was given a special cake at tea.

It will have tasted sweet too - Warwickshire are 41-4 and still 413 behind Surrey's first-innings total.

  10. 'Yorkshire getting strong foothold'published at 16:24 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 106-3 v Hampshire 141 - Tea

    Kevan James
    Sport Presenter, BBC Radio Solent

Yorkshire skipper Gary Ballance is once again leading from the front as the Tykes begin to get a strong foothold in the game.

Despite a spell of three wickets in 19 runs from Kyle Abbott this afternoon, Yorkshire are beginning to benefit from a decent lead on the first innings.

Ballance as he did in the first innings after scoring a century, steadied things around him when two wickets fell in the space of four runs.

Abbott admitted last week that he needed a bit more practise with the Duke ball. He looks as though he's happy after two catches behind and one lbw.

    Kent 298 & 12-1 v Gloucestershire 149

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Radio Kent

We have just seen a real moment of quality at the Spitfire Ground.

Gloucestershire, having been bowled out for 149, exactly half of Kent's first-innings score, needed a moment of magic at the start of Kent's first innings.

My word did they get it.

Liam Norwell got the edge from Daniel Bell-Drummond, but 20-year-old George Hankins dived to his right, taking an unbelievable catch.

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 39-4 - Tea

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Mark Footitt produced a devastating spell to put Surrey in complete control, taking three wickets without conceding a run.

The left-armer dismissed Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell in the space of three balls and then removed Sam Hain on the stroke of tea.

The sun continues to shine at The Oval, but the Warwickshire dressing room will be feeling a little chilly at tea.

  18. Two-day finish on the cards for Glamorganpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 8 April 2017

    Northants 310 v Glamorgan 101 & 117-6 - Tea

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Two more wickets for Ben Sanderson kept Northants' momentum going in the afternoon session as he continued to bowl with great accuracy.

He dismissed Aneurin Donald lbw for 15 and had Chris Cooke smartly caught at mid-wicket by Steven Crook for 20.

On the stroke of tea spinner Graeme White struck, bowling top scorer Colin Ingram for 46 to increase the probability of a two-day finish.
